Done! This is my first wall of this year and it is already towards the end of 2010! O.o
I’m pretty busy since working (plus lazy as well) and totally unmotivated to come up with anything until I look at the new version of AP. Yup, deep inside, I am yelling at myself “hey, go make a new wall and stop being so lazy!) lolz
Ok, back to the wall. Apart from using Chen Shu Fen’s artwork all the time, I tried to use Der Jen’s art work and see if I can design anything nice.
This is an unfinished wall actually which lays in my hard disc for like one year. I have extracted the scan and choose a stock photo ( from sxc.hu) and I just left the stuff aside as I can’t think of how to make use of them. Well, I listened to a song by a Taiwanese Group entitled Peony River (牡丹江)a few days ago and well…some ideas just popped into my head suddenly. :3
Anyway, I finished up this wall by adding some flowers, peony blossoms apart from manipulating stock photos of clouds (yup, a big fan of using clouds in almost every sepia coloured wall) and a Chinese lake garden. I did what I always did by using textures and brushes to achieve the blury look I want. For this wall, there are about 60 layers…excluding the font…and I need to force myself to stop adding more layers to prevent my Photoshop from hanging again and again when I need to reopen the file.
I’ve used two days to finish up this wall with a total of 9 hours to complete everything (experimenting with colours, textures, plus I need to go to work!) Hope that this wall is ok. O.o
Well, this might not be my best work yet, but comments are welcome as always. Hope I will be able to get into walling during my long break from work at the end of this week and come up with something new and better. XD
Thanks in advance!

Great to see you back to walling! It reminds me of your chen shu fen wallpaper you did a while back! I love the cursive text and the overlay arrangement of flowers!

beautiful concept and painting...

The composition is nice - especially her coat or dress or whatever it is - comes out very nicely. The yellowish-glow around the letters seems a bit out of place - I think it should've been either white or some rusty orange (similar to the background). Great wallpaper though :).

It's expected. When I see this art, it doesn't take any far reach of the mind to summon flowers and Asian architecture. That said, what's expected isn't ever awful - just a bit bland.
Technically well executed, lacking wow factor, well-blended.
Awesome sauce. <3

This wallpaper looks truly amazing. It should be big poster, I could print it and hung it on wall my room. Fantastic work. I don't know enough English language to write how much I like. Big thank you for this wallpaper. Best regards.

Wowow, niiice! Um, I don't know where to start... Well, the thing I like the most is the nuance of colors you used: they blend well with each other and compliment perfectly the feminine figure. I like the movement of the flowers and how they lighten near the figure, giving prominence to it. Lovely the chinese architecture in the background. Overall, the blurry effect helped you to recreate a tranquil dream atmosphere. Well done!
