Death Note: Kira's Notebook

An interesting idea, but I sort-of expected some non-letter-relation to an anime.. like.. maybe the silhouette of yagami or L in that rectangle. Maybe it's due to the fact that I generally don't like letter-only wallpapers, but I think this should've been more anime related. Nevertheless thanks for the effort and for sharing :).

You gotta be kidding... this is the simplest wallpaper I've ever seen on this page. The black bands on top and bottom are the worst part. Wallpapers need effort, this obviously lacks it.

The problem here is that it doesn’t really portray Death Note in any way or form. You need to have something more representative of the series in order for this to work as a Death Note wallpaper.

Right now, this looks pretty much like the layout of a title of a random book…

I've understood the graphic concept and the idea is simple and clear, but I can't see a real relection with the anime... I'm agree with divStar, a death note character silhouette on it should be better.

This is way to simple form my taste, its the same as grabbing any anime title and just placing in on a blank background.

Not to hate on your work KopyKat, but I am disappointed in the mods and surprised they let this wall through. Normally this type of submission would not make it. It is really just your lack of experience as a waller that shines through. I failed a couple submissions before I took it more seriously and put in the proper time to make a great wall. Keep picking at it.

As for the wall, It is too simple and it looks really rough and pixelated. You should try to make it more death note themed.

Nice background and gradient on letters but that's it. This wallpaper is only for really huge fans of Death Note. You made your sign on center almost as big as other text. It's not big deal. If it's your first wallpaper it's ok, definitely not great/wow/nice or whatever.

It's like a documentary title opening. Cool one!

As a wall, it's pretty nice - lots of space for icons, good colors, subtle textures. The designer part of my mind likes that orange gradient on the letters ^-^

As an anime-related wall... I'm gonna have to agree with what everyone else is saying. There's really no relation to Death Note at all. Even if you'd used the title font from the series, it would have been better. Heck, even an apple would have made it more related.

If people can't see that thematic parallels have been drawn between Death Note and Criminal Minds by the way of mimicry then may whatever god they worship have mercy on their soul.

It may not be to everyone's taste but I for one find the concept clever. Not everything has to be literal and people are small minded if they can't get past that fact.

Fizz, having a wallpaper accepted doesn't mean you suddenly can decide what is acceptable. I suggest taking your disappointment in the images acceptance and doing something more constructive than irritating me with it.

I really like the concept that you have here. The simplicity is really effective alright. Plus I like the colors too. But, like the others have said, I suggest that you go and vector some silhouettes of the characters so that it would look more awesome than it is right now. Also, some may not get what you are trying to portray here so having characters in it can make this wall the anime wall that they are looking for. ^^v

I absolutely disagree with those who would tell that this wall should've not been accepted. First of all, hoorah for black, simple and bold walls. =D Not all walls need to be all very crowded and detailed to get accepted. Like my deathnote apple wall. Art has no limit, and it is up to the artist he/she feels. ^^ Although a character, even a silhouette would've been nicer like Horseradish said. But anyway nice wall. :)

Well jeez, when I first saw this, I was really surprised that it was accepted in the galleries as well xD Probably cause most members have experienced vast rejections and believe that a wallpaper needs to be as detailed and as perfect as the ones made by the top wallers here :P

Perhaps this is a clever idea for a wallpaper, and it's true that art is very diverse, but there's also the fact that not everyone here know what "Criminal Minds" is for the simple reason that not everyone watches the same TV shows. I for one have heard of it but have not watched it at all, so I understood nothing of the concept of this wallpaper till I read the description and comments from other members.

In my opinion, I will have to agree that this at least needed some image or design that related to Death Note, so that those that do not know what "Criminal Minds" is at least find the related image or design interesting, since leaving mere text like this on a black background will surely not be appealing to those who do not know or like said TV show. So my advice is to try to apply more than text next time in order to relate the wallpaper to the series you're trying to relate it to :]

its a real nice and different idea but if I look at it, I dont really get a Deathnote feel from this. Maybe if the text color was in red or maybe if it was in grey tones and with an apple somewhere...or the notebook? its just hard to relate this style with DN so theres some dissonance

AHAHA! I like it. I think you should loose the pattern in the back it seriously drops the quality of it. This should be as clean as a mirror xD Like shinny. Obsessed with quality much. Other than that you get points for icon friendly and for making me lol.

The bars on the top and bottom are superfluous, but other than that I strangly like it. You did a very nice job on the typography. I just wish your ego would find a more discreet place for your signature.

It's not exactly plain like most people are saying. Sure it's simple but doesn't mean it's bad. Love the colors and the illumination, all fits pretty well. I was looking for the coolest wallpaper of Death Note out there and I think I found it here.

I like those instances where someone gets an idea from out of the blue then when they're trying to explain through words they use the word "BAM" or "BOOM". Anyways I liked how your wall looks like clean, minimalist and not crowded with elements.
