I'm all for traditional style walls. Excellent job with the dress (kimono?) - it really shows you took your time and put forward the best effort. The colors are lovely, and the cranes were a nice touch.

Good work! I like this traditional japanese wallpaper :) I know where the waves come, I saw the picture in the reallity on a exposure in my city :) It is a woodcut and was maybe by Katsusiga Hokusai in 1831, and the name of the woodcut is: Under the Wave of Kanagawa :)

to be frank I think the character gets in the way. In my opinion the wall would be much better if it were just the background.

Ukiyo-e is the name for woodcut :) btw Ukiyo-e is translated into "the floating world" so I think your title fits even more ;Dhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukiyoeeverything looks good. Only thing is, well you probably know it but Rakkans are made with Kanjis normally, and I suggest adding "lines" somewhere to your design so it looks a bit more traditionnal XD it's not very important though lol and umn, the kimono vector is awesome, I like the roundish design behind it too, though Hokusai's great wave looks out of place IMO. i just can't look at it without thinking it's cutout fromt he original piece and put there to fill in space D: and well, there's a border so I'm happy

The colours in this wall are simply beautiful, it definitely has that Japanese feel to it. Wow, You survived the vectoring?! Are you sure you're human?? :P No kidding, you did an excellent job, I'm impressed (and ashamed, I'd probably pop an eye if atempting to vectorize such a thing). I love the colors used, the wallpaper looks very warm. Great job with the cranes, the barely visible texture on them looks really nice, they almost look wooden-like. Wonderful work I am big fan of the Japanese block print style. You have managed to pull the image together nicely, the motifs on the Kimono or exquisite.

So you say the foundation for this beautiful wall is TAKESHI OKAZAKI artwork? - amazing. I need to do some investigation about Takeshi Okazaki then - deffinitely. You are right about the pattern on the kimono - it "almost pushed you to self-mutilation" but where I am concerned, it totally knocked me down ! @&#95;@ I was always kind of obsessed with japanese traditional clothing (and not only) but now.... I crave to get myself one! *smashes head on the table*... lol ... Beautiful! I love the calm expression on her face, contrasted with the intense movement of the waves in the background -- wonderful. Even though she's obviously the center of the piece, she doesn't overpower it. The sun behind her seems to offset her huge presence, balancing it out. Ah, perfectly lovely to look at!

I've never seen this serie, but I am so impessed by the wall. The kimino is incredible well done and the background with the cranes are so beautiful. Excellent job!

Very beautiful. I especially love the theme color of the back. Yeah, the background itself attracts me more than the main char. A wonderful combination between boordo and fading yellow. And there's something that reminds me of the ancient China.
