Kingdom Hearts One day I will set this right.

My last wallpaper for the year :) though that doesn't mean anything. Not like this one is fantastic or what -.-

This is a scene from Birth by Sleep, Terra's ending. I love Terra the most, and his ending was heartbreaking. So I decided to create this wall. Unlike my previous Ookami wall, this one took about 2 weeks, maybe less than that because I was doing my Ookami wall while playing BbS. When I started this, I had already finished BbS so I had a lot of time to work on it.

My references were from Youtube videos: "The Last Bastion of Free Will" and "Return to Silence". Meaning: the original ref was only 480 x 272 px. Ouch.

Terra was a complete pain. This is also my first wallpaper using a tablet. Nothing really complicated, just smudging and layer styles. I still am a vector artist though: I used vectors to block out the colours, as well as for certain shades which required "definite" shapes. Not meaning to be arrogant but I am proud of my Terra repaint. I think it's the best paint I've done (so far), as compared to other paint jobs I did with the mouse. I recreated the texture for the floor myself, with the help of hawksmont's crack brushes II. The rest is brush strokes, vectors, "cheapskate" shadings, and layer styles.

The sky totally floored me (that was intentional). I HATE CLOUDS. I used a chalk brush from adonihs to paint the clouds. Then, I did my usual "cheapskate" Gaussian blurs to blend in the shades of the clouds. I also added a cloud texture from the Filters; I found that it helps in making the clouds look...more like clouds -.- Finally, I added in some random layers of blue and tried out different layer styles to get the colour I wanted. Well they're not fantastic. But believe me, it's the best I can do. This is the nth revision of clouds. You have no idea how many times I deleted and restarted them.

The light rays were mostly vectored, and layer styles used to make the whites really glow. I wanted a "whiter than white" effect, but well...I guess I can only get that in a 3D engine. The moon was pretty easy. Just vector the shape, add texture via a clouds filter, add some whites, outer glow, transform, and there you have it. Nothing much.

To end off everything, I used the sparkle brush from Photoshop, did a bit of layer effects and added in the "sparklies", as I called them. And then I desaturated, saturated, adjusted....yeah just random trial and error stuff to get what you see here. I also tried to add some "colour" reflection on Terra, so there's some blue at the top, and greyish pink on the bottom. A lot of gradients, colour overlays, additional colours etc etc....I don't know. It was just trial and error all the way, with many a layer called "cheapskate".

Total number of layers: 211. Not including references and hidden layers. And my snazzy new desktop started lagging. I can't believe it. I thought it was better than that -.- Okay that's all. Happy new year, and may we all stick to our new year resolutions! :DDD
