Shakugan No Shana Not your average kimono girl

I really love the color scheme, all the beautiful shades come together very nicely, the shadows and highlights are balanced wonderfully. The way you changed some of the colors on the scan makes it fit into the backround naturally, like its a part of it and not just some scan being slapped on. Nice subtle paper like textures on the walls, its like the thin material on japanese doors. Great job

Excellent job on this one. I'm especially impressed by the coloring work you did. Like Meko said, everything is textured and colored so well it all looks like it belongs together. The color scheme itself is also excellent, as it fits with pretty much any useable theme.

Beautiful wall. The colors in this wall gives a nice japanese-style feeling, I guess one may say. The background goes well with the scan. I really love the folding door in the background; it adds more to that dojo idea.

Pretty :) I like the colors. The thing that strikes me now is how the screen and window in the background are sorta hovering between being 2D and 3D. So I guess I'd suggest either adding some more shading if you want to make the background more realistic, or take away the few bits of shading that you have now to make it look completely flat and stylized.

I have seen the scan for a while and finally someone makes it into a wallpaper. Well i like the placement of shana and the background used. I don't really like the colour used but its still pretty nice. Maybe the author can make another wallpaper using different colours or maybe a different concept

I like this wallpaper because the foreground matches the background seemlessly and because it is not simply a scan cleaning and a background put on top on one another.

I first was a little confused because I couldn't understand, why the wallpaper seemed a little "as an old dirty photo"... However - I understood it afterwards... really nice work! I like the "old-photo" look (some yellow tone). I also like the background (with its to the foreground matching perspective) - and the title and style of the text, which by the way (thanks god) doesn't spoil the image - but rather contributes to it.

Nice. I love the scan you used, I plan on using the same one for a wall as soon as I come accross the stock again. The almost monotone effect gives a nice, picture feel to the wall and I like the texture on the walls. The only issues I see are the quality of the scan (probably the texture or a result of changing the hue/saturation), a small extraction flaw on the hair (where the left strand meets the door), and the shadows under the character and the window don't quite seem right. All in all, very well done.

I like it! the softness of colour is really cool too b/c usually Shana is shown with a lot of strong dark reds and blacks, so the overall colour softness makes it stand out. I especially like the feel the colour gives it and think it complements the bkgnd especially with the Japanese feel of a paper scroll type idea =) The only thing is that her sword looks a little odd for some reason? angle, or depth? but that could just be from the scan, so who knows.. overall - I really like it! great job!

Not your average kimono girl indeed. She looks cute and deadly at the same time holding that sword. And she's so hot! I must say you did an awesome job putting all the neccessary effects, scan, and colors to blend all together.

Just a beautiful wallpaper. When I see Japanese artists and talk with them I try to get them to draw one of their female characters in a kimono. Most of the time they have this look of anguish and typically will say that its just to hard to do without a substantial amount of time (though have found asking them to draw one in a yukata or hakuma is like black and what, asking them to draw specificially a kimono would be like asking an American artist to draw a girl in a prom dress, too much detail required). Though it seems that the population at large (and considering that Japan is the target audience) is more interested in seifuku's or kogal's, a kimono can be so much more elegant and like this picture very sexy, while still very picturesque. Its a shame we usually only see them in maybe one episode a series for a new years or hanamatsuri festival.
