Entering my first VectaDesu contest - has to be a vectored piece from a scan in AP's video games gallery. I'd never done one of a badass male character before, so I figured now was as good a time as any to do one.
16-17 hours, ~60 layers, PS CS5, beloved Bamboo tablet.

Oh, wow! The shading must have been really hard on this one. Nice job with juggling so many different shades of grey and still keeping the picture interesting. Hope you do well in that contest.

Critique time:
One of the things that I do love is that, even though this strays away from the feeling of the original art of the series, is that you manage to pull it off very well. In fact, you pulled it off so well that you kind of have the whole "In game art" feel going for it. Good job.
Though one thing I noticed is somewhat staring me in the face: The shadows on his face don't feel... blended, and they make it feel really awkward. IMO that's really all that needs to be fixed here.
