Ooh, I like the blood red colors here, it's like she's gliding over a bloodbath...or a bloody river...either way, it's bloody. And I like it. The only thing I'd remark are those lamps behind her; seems like they miss some additional lighting around them to pop out a bit more. Nice job! XD

I am glad your retirement was very short. The background and character suit each other a lot. The background feels like something I would see from Jigoku Shoujo. I like the red, darkness, and evil feeling to it. The red night! The lanterns stand out and I feel that they're an essential part of the wall. It makes the wall feel like she is going to guide you somewhere.

The lanterns being a bit glowy would have been a nice touch.
