My third wallpaper! I know it's been a while since my last one, but I was hitting a bit of a slump and plus finals from school were starting to kick my butt upside down. -__-;;
Anyway, I'm still having a bit of difficulty on creating multiple resolutions of the same image without losing the quality of the image as I do so. Especially when I get to the lower sizes below 1280x800. -sighs-
But yes, I recently finished up Soul Eater a few months back and I have continued reading the manga. This anime truly is great and has a nice mixture of everything in it. Maka and Soul make a great duo (as do our other 2 meisters and their weapons) but, of course, I am focusing on Maka Albarn and Soul Evans for now. I will get around to doing the other meisters and weapons later. The inspiration for this wallpaper was simply Maka introducing each episode with the following statement:
"A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body..."
I figured I'd let that quote, alone, do enough explaining for this wallpaper.

Mixing animanga images with stock photos in this way usually isn't a very good idea. The lighting is odd and doesn't flow right, the character colors haven't been adjusted to match the tones of the rest of the wall either. They just seem placed on there. I don't think this is a bad attempt but your composition could've been a lot better.

Thank you for your critique. This was actually my first attempt at doing something like this. I know it could have been better, and I really did try. I'll probably post up some different resolutions this go around, or even make a completely different image altogether, but the important thing is that did try. XD
Probably on my second draft, I'll take the vectored image of Maka and Soul out and just leave the ones of them in the sky in the picture. It honestly looks good that way too. Wouldn't you agree? XD

I think it works quite well and only if you look at it close can you see the start/end of the anime and the different picture - very good effort tho

The characters seem to jump out of context and from the whole wallpaper. Maybe some work for better inserted with the background. I think the reason is this dark shadow around the pier of the lake.
Overall, I liked, especially by the image in fade out on the background.

The whole stock photo and vector combination doesn’t flow-blend well whatsoever.
The main characters are way too small (aren’t they supposed to the main focus of the wall). The ghost image effect isn’t needed and, frankly speaking, it looks quite tacky. The text should be where the ghost image is; the ghost image should be removed for the overall composition.
This needs a lot more work, imo. Props on the effort though…

I know I have a lot of work to do on this. Thank you for your critique. Again, this is the first time I've attempted to do something like this before so as a first effort, I know it's going to have problems. However, the idea that I was going for was their ghost images being in the sky to represent a deeper form of themselves - the more brooding side. But seeing as how this didn't really go off the way that I had planned, as my first attempt I would like to think I was at least trying to go somewhere. XD

I love how you put soul and maka by the lake it is so pretty not to mention how you put maka and soul in a sort of transparent away way and the top its brilliant. I also adore the quote it is very fitting.
