I did this wall for a friend's birthday today.
Well...I've been working on this wallpaper with no sleep. Even right now I haven't been to sleep yet.
Kinda made me sad I couldn't find many good pictures of Volke except the main one. The white overlay-ed silhouette is a version of him I would have love to have a better scan on, but I just couldn't find one so I just stuck with what I was able to find. I'm starting to love punctuation in my art for some reason. It all started because of that 'Panty and Stocking' wall. I don't know if you all notice the question marks, but I put them there because what I read about him, he seem to be mysterious and not a lot is known about him. I also read he is known as 'The Fireman' so I included that as well. I never played 'Fire Emblem' so did some research.
The result is rather unexpected because I pictured it differently in my mind, but I think this ended up better than what was on my mind.
Original Images: Volke 1 Volke 2
Texture: Wall Texture
Brushes:Flames Water Stains Rolled Paint
Font: Gunplay (If my memory serves me correctly)
Program: Photoshop 7.0
Music Motivation: Parental Advisory (Explicit) Nine Inch Nails' "Only" (and this El-P mix of it)
Disclaimer: Volke belongs to Shouzou Kaga and Intelligent Systems.
God bless and have a nice day. :)

Yay! So it was accepted and all. :) This is just so cool. I already told you that...I love how you combine textures. You're bringing back old-school walling techniques!! Great warm hues...love it. faves

Oh this is so epic! I like the two images that you chose to work with and the idea of making one into a silhouette as oppose to having the two images as the focal point. Also, I like the idea of having the images in different sizes and their placement, they balance the overall wallpaper so well. What makes this even more intriguing for me is the wonderful messy grunge style and the choice of color that helps to emphasize the character which also happens to complement him quite well. The text fits in quite nicely. Lovely work, glad I got to see it (and collect it XD)!

You better believe I traveled this far to comment on this. //dynamic pose - this'll be my first comment on this site, actually.
As I mentioned before, I really like this wallpaper. You did well combining textures and grunge elements into this and I like the overall style of it; it's a style I don't see too often anymore, but still appreciate.
Great work. //smiles

I really like how you created a background that both matched Volke's color scheme, and provided a military and rustic-ish feel to it. The underlying question marks were a nice touch, and fit nicely. I also like the font and especially the silhoutte.
