Update: WOW! Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments! I updated and revised things just a smidgen. I rounded out the corners like `Nysha suggested (thank you btw :) ) and took out a chunk of white by her hand that I forgot to delete earlier.
Wow it's been forever since I posted. Anyways, I was looking to do a wallpaper and I found this lovely scan: Scan I cleaned up the scan a bit, painted the skin tone and added the textures and color. The first version is my favorite, and wanted something to compliment all that fabulous hair. The second version is a bolder look that is still appealing but still lends to the mood. The orange ver is GORGEOUS! Though, I'd change the typo style, but it's just me)) I love that delicacy feeling which is shown, the use of texture is also great! And painting is awesome, too!

this wall caught my eye immediately! the orange ver. rocks! \m/ that color scheme reminds me of autumn (my fav. season of the year :)) The chara reminds me of some mermaid... and she looks like the mermaid in the picture from my old book (because of the hair and the eyes)... nostalgia... +

Love your coloring on this, especially version two. But I also really love the way the blue compliments everything in the first version. Cute touch too with the rounded edges, and the textured highlight overlays really polish it off!

The orange one is quite cool! It's like an ancient tile you'd find in a temple or something. :3 Really nice work. The round corners are something new, but they seem too angular/choppy and not smoothly rounded off, especially the top left one. One way to make evenly rounded corners is to make a white rectangle shape in a new alpha channel, heavily Gaussian blur it, then adjust the levels so that it forms a sharp, rounded rectangle. You can then select this new shape and apply it as a layer mask on your wall to round off its corners. You can also use this rounded rectangle as a guide and vector over it too if you prefer it that way.
Edit: The corners look much cleaner now! :D Good job, and great style!
