This is the first time I try to actually extract a character from a detailed artwork like that. When I realized that no fancy photoshop tool could help me get a clean cut-out, I just spent a good long while clicking away with the polygonal lasso.

I actually spent as much time trying to decide what to do with the picture once I was done - I had a band poster-ish thing in mind when I started, but I got hung up on trying to make a fitting background (kinda silly in retrospect considering a grungy texture and maybe some faded check-patterns are all you really need for a fitting BRS background). But I kinda liked that saturated color I got when I was playing with filters, so I just built it off that.

Revision 2 has an added background - I was going for a visualizer-style thing with the bars there, to complement the more musical theme of the pic.

I left the background-less version in since it feels cleaner and may be more to some people's preference. (I like it.)

I like how you changed the scan and adjusted the colours to! But the way and type of text you have is really killing it.. From the thumbnail it looks freakin' awesome but full veiw it is...really...in the way O>O Maybe try putting it to back of her? Or at the top? Something that doesnt cut her up the middle And try different fonts??
