xD This is a distraction project from another project I'm working on that's driving me crazy. I was shuffling through some rco wada scans (love them!) and came across this one from a series I've never seen. But I kind of loved the colors and just, I don't know, loved it in general. And I had a lot of fun working on this vector, messing with painting, because I'm really trying to improve there. So, that's about it. Like I said, adored the colors and the scan and everything. Simple, hope you like it. Took about two days on-and-off. Alternative textless version available on the left (@ MT).

Both versions are nice; I can't decide which I like more! I like the contrast of the second version, but I think the red background is easier on the eyes and I like the text as well. The hint of sparkle behind it is nice, too. Overall they're both good walls, I just would have liked to have seen more detail in her hair, especially her braid. Great job!

I agree - I really like that scan too! Personally I prefer the red version, but you can consider making it darker red from the top and adding more glitter! Kinda like this: http://www.animepaper.net/art/114646/onizaki-takuma That would make it more dramatic. Also, she needs more defining outlines like what she has on her ear in the first version. Her hair and the folds in the bow need more of this in particular. It looks unfinished without them. And for your painting, try smudging her hair into smoother strands - it seems as if you just blocked in some base colors and left them as-is. If you don't have a tablet, it can still be done, but you have to go much more slowly/carefully. Also, utilize layer masks to "erase" colors into the shapes you want without fear of messing up. :3 Feel free to ask me any questions about painting - I'd be glad to help you out.

I definitely think the blue background is nice; it's a great contrast and makes the picture look more regal. The only thing bothering me is the braid - it looks like it's on top of the bun when it's actually under.
