Hey everyone! Well here is my newest wallpaper. I hope you guys like it, I worked really hard on this..lol. The vector of Alvaro took me about 4 days. I used a bit of a different method and went with using shapes instead of paths. I see a huge difference and I really enjoyed doing it. I also decided to go with colored lines this time instead of black. I added a few gradients to the lines with the suggestions of Kamlotten and Nysha. I also really tried to focus on gradients and using shapes to add more shading and gradients. For the wall itself, just about everything is vectored. I had a hard time trying to vector the bed straight from the scan so I sketched over it lightly using my tablet and vectored it from there. The rest are vectored from various pics that I will link together. XD So anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this. Thank you too everyone who gave suggestions and helped me out!

Well, well, well! Very nice and clean line art if I must say so. :D The colors are nice and clean as well though I feel that it kinda needs more definition in the shadows and highlights----the original scan has that. Also, I think it would be better if you didn't blur the highlights and shadows at all 'cause right now, it seems obvious that you blurred them. Try using gradients more when blending in some colors together with shadows, as well as highlights. (OwO) I'm kinda missing the white in his mouth and also the white in his right eye.
I don't think I have to say this but, when there are things that you feel that are not there (even though the original image/scan doesn't have it), you could improve it on your own. ^^v This is what I learned from @isshi's works. :D It's not about recreating the work----it's about improving it and making it your own. :D
Why not try to add some rays of sunlight as well coming from the window? As for the tapestry, I think it could use some gradient 'cause there is light near the window so I think that part of the wall should be lighter than the rest of it. The dresser and the vase looks fine BUT I'm deeply disturbed by that white thing underneath it. What is it? D:
Other than that, great job again on making such a clean work. ^^v Hope my advises/ideas would help you out. :D

I'm happy that you took some of my suggestions! This is your best wall yet (was still awesome before suggestions). Love the addition of a curtain. Shrubbery and all the little extras really make the wall for me. Agree with horse that it could have done with some sunrays but it's not a dealbreaker for me. The vector is really nice, I really love the detail on the hair, the gradient is really nice, the effort really paid off!

i don't even know how to do hair like that lol, really awesome work, i'd love to learn how to even do a room type wallpaper like that, i've tried but i wasn't very successful! anyway really love everything!

The vector is again very simple and plain. It's as if you just used 3 layers - base, shadow and lighting. I'm not saying it's bad, but I hope you can improve on it. Seeing that it's a scenic wallpaper, it's not right for it. I think that kind of simpleness is better suited for something like your DRRR wallpaper. I can also see some leakage of vector around the pants and hair.
As for the BG, you could have made the patterns smaller so as to give it depth and also add shadows to them like on the upper corner or lower part of the wallpaper so that it doesn't look flat. The table doesn't have shadows casted on the floor too...
One thing I love is the windows coz they look just right...
Keep it up.

yay mibelle :3 you really leveled up :D gratz for that, I was talking with vampy about some things you can add to your wall for example the shadows under the dresser and the shadow of the vase in the wall. if u add sunlight rays then u can add to him (to make him more bishie) light reflections in the hair and some light in the skin from the sunlight rays.
anyway vampy saved the pic i did for you ^^ she will send you the pic in msn
again gratz! and go go never surrender! :p

You got a better at vectoring Mibelle, has high quality and is really clean. But, is stil not the real deal now. The vector shapes have common color overlays, you could wonder how a few gradients can power up,and in first case it will look less flat. Also the coloring of his skin is rather weird that the brighter highlight is almost the same color as the base itself, like almost merging together. I also agree with Horseradish, since the title is already Good morning sunhine, a few light rays (with motion blur for example) could brighten up the room itself (is a bit dark in my opinion) and also the overall appeal itself as well. Though I still parise for the sharp quality and the effort what you put in :3 Ganbatte

Ah nice you finished. :3 I see you applied some changes, but it's quicker than I expected - I thought you were going to add a lot more to him! XD So he still looks unfinished to me. For example, there are still details missing: the line of shine on the upper right of his hair, coloring in the white of the left (shadowed) eye, and the fold lines on his shirt. It's also a bit too obvious seeing the singular gradients you used to shade parts like the hair and clothes. The skin is better because there are several shades with multiple gradients on top of each other - and you should have done the same with the bluer shape of shadowed hair on the left side that you could have added. However one gradient on his skin, the pink colored one on his neck, needs to also be applied on his chest/shoulder area and upper left of his face too (basically the areas more in shadow), because without them it appears he has changing skin tones on either sides of his shirt. o.o
As for applying the gradient on the hair lineart, that's a start, but then you get the unfortunate effect of the lines disappearing where their gradient blends with the the base hair gradient. Also, the lines in shadow right where the bangs come out of the forehead still need to be darkened too. I would suggest breaking up some of the hair lines into several layers to control their gradients separately. And try a blending mode like multiply to solve the disappearing problem. :)
Other details like the eye lashes and stray light colored hairs (again, on the left side in shadow) would make the vector more interesting and less blocky if added. Adding a small gray gradient in the eyes would make them rounder too.
As for the background, I agree that the lighting can be improved with brighter sun rays, but if you do, I would say make the upper right corner of the room darker in return (just play with more gradients with blending modes!). I would say try a light golden color for the light. And those white floor tiles need to be a darker shade of gray (especially since lacking a shadow below the dresser!)
Overall you have a great start but you just finished it too soon leaving out these kinds of details that would have made the wall much more engaging!

I liked how you combined all those pictures together into one. But i wish you added more detail onto your vector. It could use some more shadows and highlights. It's nice how his hair had that blue-green gradient in the original scan. So maybe you could do the same for your vector. As for background i feel like there's something missing. It would be nice if you could vector in some flowers for the vase. Something like this type of flower and also vector some of those flower petals over the floor and the bed. As for the lighting, i agree with @Horseradish. It would be nice to have sun rays coming in through the window.

Your vectoring is getting better and better!
I think you could make your bishie look more shiny and rich)) I'd add more sparkles to his eyes, too to make his stare more smexy)) It'd nice to add some flowers/or maybe a chocolate/box gift from some fan-girl to his dresser^^ and maybe some picture on the wall;
I also would try to add some texture to the wall, to make it less flat.. The bed could be more shadowed, too^^ And I agree to @Horseradish - the sun rays from the window would be nice, too. ...or even you could make a night version of it^^/ Overall, great!

I'm sorry that I don't know well your skills, so I can't say you did improved your skills or not! Seems to be a nice wallpaper idea, but technically, it needs more improvements, I am afraid you're using the wrong colors for the shadows on his skin, hair and the bed, I think the same colors as the elements + a good contrast will give you the good color choice, for the background, the perspective is totally off, and it's the fault of the colors too, there is no deep feeling on it, and the chess ground (that took me about 3 minutes to guess that's a "chess" ground) helped a lot to kill that room, if I were in the place of that guy, I would never live into a purple papered wall + a chess ground, it's not going together ^^' Finally, the rest of the elements of the room need more improvement (shadings, different colors and textures) and specially need the black outlines like you did for the character. Please accept my critiques as a friendly ones. Keep it up!

I really like the window with the curtain and sunrays in the background that you can see-through, it really has a fabric feel to it because of the way you've done the coloring, which is impressive. Nice work on the colored outlines for the vector too, and I like your choice on the vector (since he is sexy ;D). I like what Nessbad94 said about flowers or chocolates or fan girl items on the dresser, he's too cool for just a vase B)

Hey Belle~
Okay, firstly I love your wall, it's fairly simple but eye catching.
Your lines are all lovely and neat and crisp, your colours well chosen and the whole feel of the wall is of a nice warm morning, just like you're trying to portray. I love the revisions you made, they add that extra oomph that I thought your wall needed when you first submitted it. The gradients on the wallpaper are lovely, it really does give you the feel that warm morning sunshine is streaming in the window, as do those awesome sunrays you added (very nice btw). Secondly, I just love that wallpaper, such a deep rich aubergine, makes me think of flocked wallpaper, just too nice.
Alvaro looks fantastic, your new technique is certainly just right for you, a huge improvement in your work =D Great to see.
The only thing I feel I need to point out would be the shadow on that awesome cupboard and vase. Maybe try a different way of doing the shadow. Either vector the shadow by hand, using a photo as a guide so you can see the way a shadow would fall in the morning (or even check it out in your own bedroom), or you can do it by selecting the image on the layer you want, for example the cupboard; create a blank layer behind that one and fill the outlined area with black using the paint bucket tool. Right click on that layer and select blending options, lowering the opacity to roughly 30%, depends on how dark you want the shadow. That leaves you able to free-transform your shadow so that it looks natural. I hope I explained that okay, if you need further clarification just let me know. I'm happy to help =3.
I think you've done a wonderful job on this wall Belle~, looking forward to seeing more from you. =3

First of all, I have to say how much I admire how you created such a clean, nice vector and added those extra details to the wallpaper which weren't in the scan. I particularly like the pattern on the wall and also the curtain :D
Some things I'd like to point out: - Since the guy and the bed has outlines, perhaps the vase and the small table it's on should have outlines too, to make everything look synchronised. - Instead of blurring the edges of the shading layers, perhaps you could use your tablet to softly erase the edges so that they fade in better. - Maybe there could be more layers of shading on the clothes? For myself, I usually go with the base layer, light, lighter and dark, darker XD - I don't know why, but his face looks a bit strange. The colour is too magenta-ish compared to his arms, but it's probably just me ^^
All the above are just suggestions though :D I think you did a really great job constructing the whole 'room' feeling, and the sunlight rays are a nice touch along with the curtains. Love the mood~ Keep it up!
