I’ve wanted to wall this series since the very moment I started watching it (loving its humor and high production values). I was also hoping more people would too (especially after 20’s episodes), but I guess was wrong. Like they say, to each their own...
It wasn’t after I watched the second opening (Hyadain no Joujou Yuujou) that I found my “walling shot”. I really love this shot of Hakase (she is the small-fun-looking girl holding the umbrella; you can call her Professor if you want). The only thing that would’ve made this shot perfect would’ve been if Sakamoto (the red scarf-talking-cat) or Nano (the robot school-girl) were in it.
Stuff (or something you might care to read):
- Based on an original concept
- Perfect for winter and/or autumn. Not really suitable for summer (but that’s all up to you). Coming up with background drafts for this was definitely fun. For matter fact, it was the best part of all this
- Characters were vectored from a screenshot using AI. Colored outlines instead of black. Added a couple of more shades and lines to the character (nothing big, but still worth mentioning)
- Added textures to both, background and character, and also did a bunch of other adjustments (yes, the usual)
- What does the wooden sign says? Can’t you read it? It says Follow me and Can’t turn around. Since you can’t turn around, I guess you gotta follow her to wherever she goes (at least those baby chicks agree)
- A snowman? Yes, because snowmen are awesome. You can’t have snow without having a snowman. You just can’t. It’s just how it is
- Hakase snow footprints
- And more (etc etc etc etc etc etc)… that I will be omitting for the sake of making this so called description “shorter”
By the way, there is alternative version available (different approach). I made it for a friend and decided to post it along with the original as a freebie (yes, a freebie, meaning that I wasn’t really planning on posting it, but I did in the end). It’s just different. I won’t go into details about the different things and changes I did for this version. If you have tons of icons in your desktop, you might appreciate this alternative version a tad more. Me? I still preferred the original (really, my desktop is icon-free, so either way I’m fine).
Silly chart (because “walling progress charts” were meant to be fun). Same as the last one, this chart was quickly put together and does not include a shot of the final version.
Well, I hope some of you appreciate this wall and the fact Hakase is in it and not Sakamoto (or Nano or Mio or Yuko or Mai). By the way, the preview display for this looks rather low quality (at least for me)....... Anyhow, all comments are welcome. Enjoy.

Oh my word, this is sooo cute I almost died!!
Let's start with the difference between the versions, I personally prefer version 2, but there is also something that is really appealing about version 1. I especially love the leaves that float around on the white background. :D Also, the way that the snowy path from the oval makes it not quite "round" is awesome!
Version 2 is definitely my favorite, I also don't (really) have desktop icons so full backgrounds are awesome. The expansion gives a better idea of the surroundings (I see there is a wall in the background so I assume it's a park of some sort?) I adore the snowman and I love the signpost.

I really love revision 1, it feels like such a perfect snapshot with great typography! This is just so superbly polished, you should be really proud of yourself!

The first thing that had captured my eye was the chara.
Even the vector looks simplistic at the first sight,with full view you see here careful and neat lineart, 'depth' shading/lightning almost everywhere - on trees, street signs, on her umbrella,etc; I also liked the snow, - snowman is soo cute)
As for wall's theme, I might say, I'm looking forward to the autumn/winter, so you have captured the moment just perfectly, like a everyday's life screencap.
As for revisions, I also admire by creative 'shot' in rev1, but the rev2 is more awesome and even brings you some nostalgia for the walks in such days! +fav!

I've set version 1 on my desktop, both are so adorable but I prefer to have more whitish wallpapers on my desktop (they are more energy saving on flat screens, blackish are good for old type of screens)

This is FTW. How come this wall has such a low rating with the amount of neatness in it?
Your background design is awesome and it fits the girl. The mood is great. The wallpaper makes me wanna go and take a walk (o do something outside). Colors look great. They match perfectly with the winter/autumn theme. Overall composition is well thought-out (for both versions). All in all, it’s an awesome wall that sadly is being overlooked either because the series, the characters, or theme (yea, no enough sexiness, overcomplicated vectors or shinny lights in it to capture others interests).
Trustfully, compare to some of the recent-top rated stuff I see here today, this is gold. That’s my opinion though. Again, great stuff and keep bring in us more walls of these new shows! Seeing the same shows walled over and over is getting tiresome.

aww...it is so adorable. I like your way of vectoring the bg and the solid colours used. The design is bright and clean. I like it. (whisper...especially the snow man in version 1. XD)Plus, the lines as the shading for the bg disign is good. I really like the whole concept.
Anyway, for version 1, some fade textures can be added for the plain bg to make it more interesting. I like the way you cropped the bg, it looks cretive. Perhaps it looks like a comma? XD In my opinion, it would be better of you stick to a colour for the alphabets in the word 'friends' as it looks kinda mismatching with the blue coloured 'best' word.
Well done for this kawaii wallie. Gonna fav it and add it in my collection of desktop wallpapers XD

Ooh, very cute - and meticulously done, as always. Both versions look great, but I particularly like version 1 because the snow/rain lines give the wall such a great sense of movement. The leaves really pop out because of the white space - the composition is excellent. The only thing I'm not sure about is the text in version 1 - as usual, I suspect you might be able to get away without it - but minor nitpick. I plan to check out Nichijou because of your wall :D

Super cute! I really love the way you designed the background; the soft color outlines on the trees, snowman, and other background elements really give it an anime screen shot feel, even though it was all made by you. It just really all looks authentic, and the sentiment is adorable <3

Great wall! I just started watching this series and I’m too loving it so far. The lack of walls for this series is quite disappointing, so I’m glad you decided to wall it.
I love wallpapers with this type of creativity in them. Zoom-out shots like this gives a better sense of what type of scene we are looking at (they can even tell a story). In my opinion, people that create and put together their own backgrounds (especially scenic types) from scratch should be recognized more. It’s not as simple as it looks (even if it looks that way to you).
Once again, great work. I’m definitely showing this to some of my co-workers. I’m sure they will love it.

This is a really cute wallpaper, with a simple but very effective composition. A well thought design and great matching colors. I liked the thin lines in rev1, especially the ones on the ground since they emphasize the road. In my opinion i would move the characters and place them following the diagonal perspective of the road and maybe get rid of the black lines below her feet and the little characters, i dont know how that would look like but maybe it could be an interesting change. Rev2 is also nice, i like it even more than rev1 because of the snowman. I think you should have added some falling snow since she has an umbrella, that would have made the picture look like a perfect winter scene.

My day just got better by watching at this wallpaper. So happy, so casual, so colorful, so what’s not to like. I can definitely see myself doing that during the winter season. I just need to have some chicks to follow me around, lol.
