Thanks to Vornava for this awesome scan! She's so cute I could not resist!
I made the vector in paying my attention to details. It was difficult to vector it because of the "sketch" design, I tried not to distort from the original (I hope I succeeded).
As the girl is enough detailed I chose a very simple BG. I painted a gradient BG and shadows of branches-leaves. Then I worked on contrast, saturation, colors to create a very warm atmosphere (as her expression). I chose submitting these 2 revisions, more or less contrasted.

I can't believe how fast you did that o_o Her hair looks gorgeous, and it has a lovely warm atmosphere like you mentioned. Love the shading and coloring on her face, I think it'd be nice if the flowers in her hair got a similar treatment, since they're such a nice decoration :3

Wow! This is really beautiful! You did a great job with the colors, they are very warm and comforting. The shadows on the tips of her fingers look a little strange to me, like they're too dark almost. They look like they're actually her fingernails. Her hair and skin are done very well, but the flowers in her hair look very flat, like you were getting tired of working on this project. It would have been nice to see a little more detail in the leaves in the background, like one half of each leaf being lighter than the other. I know that sounds like a lot of work, but with copy and paste as well as the transform abilities, it wouldn't be too bad and would really rock this wall.

Hi Cilou! Awesome wallpaper - once again. Clean and crips lines, smooth eyes and shadings as well as warmly colors add up quite well to the whole wallpaper. You certainly improved a huge lot comparing to your first wallpapers :). Still I want to note that noone should download the JPG-version of this (and some other wallpapers), because they contain some serious artifacts - this one contains them around the flowers in her hair.. I see that, because I usually never go for PNG in wallpapers and so most of the time I'm fine with the compression. Maybe Bantam should just increase the percentage at which JPG wallpapers are saved when generated. Anyway: great wall!

I'm afraid I have to say the scan is better on this, minus the Kanji and girls below. However, I also think the wall is aiming for different things. To note, the scan's eyes are different, blurred out background, and is a half-body scan, whereas this is shoulder up.
Warmth is the name here. To me, this is steering from a different path from the scan. Her eyes are shallow, and show cheerfulness. Smile is nice, too.
However: 1: The fingers are oddly lighted/coloured. I do not know what light would give that. 2: Ball and background lack detail. I know its specifically mentioned the wall aimed to have a plain background. Leaves + gradient is okay, but not great material. Ball got downgraded from Scan. Another nitpicking: why shoulder up? I would love it if she was more fully drawn.
I do think I reference the source material too much, though. I love the floral decal on her right as well as the flowers on her. Colours are extremely fitting for 'warmth.' Hair is great, too.
All in all a solid wall of good interpretation and execution, with room for improvement.

Beautifully done as always! She look gorgeous and I love the warm feeling the whole thing gives off. I also really like how you kept the background so simple so the main focus was kept on her. Anything else than what you have in the background would have been a distraction. Her hair just looks so shiny. :D +fav

Cilou you are doing wallpaper again so fast!
The vector of the charactor is awesome, in company with rich detail and lovely accessories which I like. But dont you think the background is too simple and the accessories are flat and need to add proper lighting as well? Anyway, good try for different painting-style picture, keep it up!

Lovely work on the vector. I personally like the 2nd revision the best because the higher contrast really brings out the details and features of the girl. My fav aspect of the whole wallpaper would be her eyes. I think you did a great job on that and it looks even better than the original scan. Other than that, i also like how her hair has a nice glow to it. :D As for the background, well as you said it is fairly simple. But i think it works fairly well here anyway as it places the focus on the girl. So great work overall! :)

its gorgeous. The colors are really beautiful, the darker version is better though as it gives more depth. Some lines are jaggy but its not so noticeable. Also, awesome scan chosen, girl is beautiful and also wonderful vectoring. The only thing i would add would be more shadings in the hair. +

I like it a lot of colorwise and also the vector - especially her hair looks pretty good. Maybe the sky by her back could use some more variety, just as the original scan contains.

I just loved that scan, it's so cute! You made a good job on it, you really payed attention to the details. The hair, eyes and clothes are the best on my opinion, just loved the shadowing and the flowers on her kimono. The bg looks a bit plain for me, maybe if you had recreated the original or had putted more lighting it would looks better. I liked for the changes on the colors, these warm colors remember a sunset for me. ^^ Good job!

Was it a 'shadow' layer that was added in between the other layers -- darkening the 'deeper' layers, while leaving the top ones untouched? Or did you hand darken everything? (OR something different?)...

Nice Background with the orange sky (I think it's sunset) and the leaves - looks very good - like it more this way then the scan with only the clouds in the bg!!

I loved the combination of gradients you used for the ball and flowers. You also added more contrast when painting in revision toowhich makes her beauty to stand out and makes the details easier to notice. Ialso liked the gradient you used for the face very much since it makes her skin look so soft and pretty. Faved l
