Very nice concept indeed. The render should be lightened and maybe with the use of the 'level' feature on PS will make the render a much more fuller render :P

Now this is what I'm talking about, I'm so very glad that you walled this scan, Aki. Gorgeous Lolita girl in a beautiful background can simply sum it up, but I've never been about doing something like that before, I'm about going into detail for that and with that said..

First off the scan is utterly adorable, though, I still have to stick with what I said on IRC about the girl. "She looks like a mascot for a Hot Topic store" but that's mainly because the goth-wannabee's and emo kids shop, just a stereotype, I think she looks really beautiful and you did a lovely job cleaning up the scan as well. She looks very lovely and I'm glad that you included the cross into the bg as well.

As for the background, really a thing of true beauty. I love what you've done with it. It almost looks like flowers and leaves combined in a sort of abstract-ness to it, but that's just from sorta a warped perspective. I think it's a gorgeous abstract, or it looks abstracty anyways in my personal opinion. Just a beautiful job with the colors and creating such a peaceful and serene mood for the background, just so very calm and relax and so very fitting for the character as well. I personally cannot describe the background anymore than this, only with the fact that I greatly love this background and what you've done with it, which is why it's currently set to my desktop. Fantastic work as always.

Overall, what else can be said? I really like this background and I'm glad that someone decided to wall this scan and that someone was you, thank you for sharing this beautiful work of art with us.

She and her white cross remind of me as Trigun Character... But I don't like background of Circle. You may keep that style but I think it does not represent anything. I recomend to draw some object that fit in character. Thank you for sharing.

Never seen such a difficult and unusual wallpaper from Suzuhira Hiro. It has a very dark and happy feeling at the same time. Very calm mixtures of purple, black, and white. The scan is very extraordinary and cool. The background is very clean and has good quality. Keep up this work and effort, Asahi!

It's a really nice composition you have here, the character is really well done and fits in nicely. The character is really clean and the extraction is really good, can't see any bits of background. The colours are well chosen as well, giving off a gothic-vampire kind of feel. The background is interesting as well, I'm asuming that's the part that you did in Illustrator. The character is little dark so she doesn´t "come out" to the backgroud but everything else is outstanding. I like those light spots over there. The colours are also good.

How can anyone go wrong with the gothic lolita!?

Brilliant choice of scan. You've done excellent work with the background. You've got it well populated so it's not boring, but with the choice of subdued reds and blacks, my desktop icons still pop right out, and are very clear. I would have liked to have had more space on the left hand side of the wallpaper, behind the cross, but that's just a personal preference as I tend to organize my icons down the left and right hand sides of the monitor.

Very easy on the eyes too. I've started to get irritation from bright colours on my LCD screen, and this a beautiful artistic way to deal with that problem.

I think this is a great piece. Also, I feel that the overall muffled tone of the entire wall works in its favor. There are no drastic color changes that you see time to time from the scan to the background imagery, so this particular wall has a great sense of flow to it. Also, I think that the dark, more muffled tone works well with the subject matter. Overall a great job.

WOW, this wallpaper is so good. i REALLY like the goth look of the girl, but she looks so innocent and cute at the same time. BUt at the same time it's really dark, and the cross behind her gives alot of contrast. but it's the background that makes it look amazing, i really like what you've doen with the reddish hues. this is an instant favorite, great job!... i just wish it was a littLE bit brighter =_=

Uhm I must say that I'd lighten the character up a bit .. cause she seems to be quite dull.. but when having it as a wallpaper (e.g. looking at it in full-size) it looks pretty much okay being so dull.

My critics is that I'd wish the colors were more expressing. But I think thats a matter of taste as well. However - everything is done pretty well and lovely. On that note: what exactly did you do with Cinema4D? (what portion of the pic)

[I think it's been the same for about oh...six months now.] Of course, I am a bit biased because I happen to be a fan of the punk lolita look myself but if it wasn't a well made wallpaper I would have just said "kudos" and been done with it. The colours u've used really go well...especially the bg colours. They match well wiv her costume. Impressive. I was never drawn to gothic lolita but with your graphic skills, you did pretty well. Just starting from the atmosphere, the black background and the grunge style already specifies that gothic feel. Adding the character pose and the cross, it states the overall point. The image you chose made the wallpaper stood out. The clothes of the character and her expression is intriguing to look at and rather gorgeous to be in fact. Nice wall!

I do agree with the other commentors, but i don't think it's about the overall brightness of the picture, but more on how bright the colours are, meaning that the picture can still remain 'dark,' without sacrificing the character appearing dark.. you could adjust that in photoshop, through adjusting the colour levels to bring out the brightness without causing the picture to lose the dark feeling..
