Hi there!
This is my first wallpaper ever! I didn't want to do too many things at once so I used this awesome vector from 4fi http://www.animepaper.net/art/194126/arnett-mcmillan I chose freezing for my first wall, it's a really good anime, I wanted to make an ice type background so I tried to make it look sorta frozen! I know it's lame! :P
I hope you like it, gonna try get better at this!

I know people will like the character, but the background is looks like little more than pixel squares and color. Why not try adding text or smaller details to give it a design? This really feels like a first step, and not a finish.

It looks really plain, It seems like there wasn't anything done to the vector at all, and the background doesn't blend well with it. The idea of it honestly sounds really good, just need to tidy up the excecution. You should try changing the colors from warm to cold, like a light blue would look nice, and add in some lighting, because the background seems like light is focused on the center, but for the vector it looks like it's aimed in from the top left. Just keep up the work, fix a couple of things, and it should turn out a lot better :3

The color choice for the background clashes with the purple of her shirt. You want to pick hues that compliment each other when making a background. So if your theme was ice, then tone the ice down a bit to a softer blue.

First wallpaper or not, you really should put some more effort in your works. I really like Freezing and in my opinion such work is not worth that gallery. (I made the first Frezing wall for this site, so I recommend to look on it and trying to compare with yours, maybe you can learn something). The background is practically non-existent (some squares and thats it) and the colors doesn't match the character at all. Usually by a abstract background (cause I think that this could be categorized as abstract) the colors should match the colors of the character (hair, clothing, etc.) Also nothing against 4fi, but the vector itself also lacks a lot, the lines are too thick and just simple overlay colors. By such a easy one, you should do it yourself then. Freezing art involves a lot of gradients and light, which can boost the overall outcome greatly. For the background, why to not make it darker, with low contrast colors, and trying a textart style?

No offence dude but, it really looks plain and simple, and it isn't suited to be a wallpaper since it doesn't show much effort and creativity. Like ,no special effects that is related to the details(swinging of her hair, weapon, etc.) or put some blood/whatsoever since she's kinda deadly and also edit the vector regarding what creative you are not just the vector itself without a bit design..
But somehow.. It looks good if you're interested in simplicity than a creative one..
