I just started reading deadman wonderland the other day so i wanted to make a wallapaper with one of the serie characters. While hunting for a scan i found this lovely one in MT . I liked their pose and her tattoos so i decided to use it.
the vectoring part was done in Ai, it took a day and a 1/2 with almost 200 layers but i enjoyed the process :D With Ps, i added few touches for the vector such as adding some scratches to their metal neck collars to give it a more realistic look.
I wasn't sure if Shiro (blond girl) was wearing a boxing glove or what was the material of the glove, but those stitching reminded me of the little dolls made from hessian fabric in 9 movie 
so i decided to make a little twist and make the glove look as if they were made from that material (hessian fabric).
Now for the hair part, i felt that the normal hair was a little too flat and boring so i used few brush strokes with very low opacity to create few strands here and there to give the hair depth and more natural feel.
As for the eyes, i don't know why but i played with them a little bit and enjoyed the process and ended up with pair of eyes different than the originals. However, i liked the result and their soft feel so i kept them
For the background part, i wanted it to be simple to allow the characters to be the main focus, so i thought of dividing the wall into two areas, a dark and light one. However, i felt it was too simple so i added halftone and noise to some areas. The serie main theme is prison so i added a chained link fence at the back to go with the theme.
As for the colouring scheme, i tried to choose colours that would fit the mysterious and dark atmosphere that the manga have.

Ps: I added a new revision in which i tried to adjuct some of the things that you guys mentioned in your comments especially regarding the hair strokes (thanks horse for pointing that out). So to fix the hair i tried to smooth out the brush strokes to appear more blended, plus i added a blurried prison hallway to give more depth to the wall (thanks Nysha for this advice ^_^)

WOW. You really have improved your vectoring skills. This is AMA-AAAAAAAAAZING. (OwO) It's really surprising to see you jump on to a level like this! I congratulate your hard work and efforts! You really make your pieces worth it. :D
First of all, I like the overall mood and feel of your wall. It has that deep, dark, and mysterious feel to it----like you can't quite tell what they're trying to convey/express----I like those kind of walls. It gives you a lot of time to ponder and have different views from others.
Next thing, the colors, shadows and the highlights are TO DIE FOR. And those textures that you used are so good that they blend in beautifully with the other elements. The gloves and the chokers (?) that they're wearing on their necks look so realistic. (OwO) Makes me wanna touch them. LOL. ALSO, THAT chicken-wire looks SO EFFIN' REAL. The shine and the shadow on it is really working it out!
Lastly, as much as I love your overall work here, the strokes/SOME strokes that you did to their hair isn't working out so well. D: It kinda brings down the overall quality and look to it. Also, you could've put your signature somewhere else to make it blend with the look of the wall.
Other than that, great job overall! (OwO) Keep 'em coming!
P.S. I had to double-look on the title 'cause at first, I thought this was Eureka 7. LOL. They KINDA look like the characters from Eureka 7. (OwO) False alarm. XDDDD
UPDATE:
I really love the addition of the blurred hallway in the BG----though I think it's too blurred for my taste. D: Maybe it's just me. Hahaha. Still, it gives off a nice impact as well.
As for the hair, I think it would be better if the strokes were sharp since your overall vector is sharp and crisp and smooth. Right now, it still looks like a blurred stroke for me. Although not quite pronounced like in the first one.
Finally, since you've added your signature already in one of the character's neck brace/choker (which blends in beautifully if I must say so), I don't think it's necessary anymore to put that signature on the back side of the girl. :D

The sepia tone is really beautiful and I don't see it done often, let alone done well. The metal textures are ace. Also the whole piece has this lovely softness/glowyness that gives it a dreamy dimension. And the simple bg really complements the style you've done the characters in. OH AND THE FENCE! How did you do that? It's insane in full view. I heart fence.
Just a smal piece of crit. I think if you had some lighting on the eyelashes it would make things pop. Atm they just look like sold lineart on Ganta.

Finally, an awesome Deadman Wonderland wall fitting for this awesome series.
The color scheme couldn't have been better; the few colors your chose to work with set the atmosphere for the scan perfectly. I also love that you kept the background simple to put more focus on the characters. The most amazing part is the vectoring...I can't believe it only took you a day and a half to do an almost 200 layer vector. Awesome.

Looking at your previous walls/vectors it's very pleasant to see how fast you're improving! The first thing I like in this wall - the colors. They're perfectly chosen! I also like such half sepia style a lot!!
2nd: characters' vector work. It's absolutely splendid! Each gradient just "plays" and creates the depth and shine! I like the chara's eyes - they are so catching and realistic! And the way you did the clothes is just stunning! Texture(s) give here more finishing look and fit. Well, your wall is a perfect example of how working&improving you can reach the higher level! +fav!!

Wow! The details are flawless! And the fence, THE FENCE! I remember trying to do a wallpaper with a fence once, I failed so badly because of my please-trade-with-me-patience! Your fence is PERFECT!
And I sooo love the textures you've used. They fit perfectly with the wallpaper. Really brings the prison rough life out of it.
Oh, and you've caught the theme of the series very well. I love how this wallpaper looks nice but at the same time displays the emotions I got from watching and reading this. Very well done I must say!
I have a piece of advice which is very unnecessary. You COULD add some highlight on Ganta's leg. The light should hit all of his right side, not just the top of his head and shoulder. I'm only assuming this because I see no obstacle to block the light hitting his leg. But this is just a small detail. It looks good anyway.

Glad to see that your improving skills where now put into a Deadman Wonderland wallpaper, after the series ended, people like if would forget about it. And by improving I mean a real improvement, especially if I see how looks the source scan. The dark tones, occassional highlights with the complex vector with the way how is the fence done, shows taht you are now a full-fledged AP warrior on the field of wallpapers :3 The time and effort putted into this, shows his fruit it seems. +Fav

This wall have everything that I like in a wallpaper.
Nice vectoring - check, Dark atmosphere - check, Simple but effective background - check, Nice and limited color scheme - check, Effective use of gradients on coloration - check, Pretty gurl - check, Made from good series - check, Good use of textures - that's a bonus check.
I feel about it almost as if it was my own, except I wouldn't do it so well.

Absolutely gorgeous! Love the colors and the subtle textures that just beautifully bring out the details and make it feel 'real' even though it's anime-styled. I have to say too, that's an amazing resolution to work at and still have such a high quality finish!

Wuuaaah my first reaction was seeing just how much you transformed the original scan! Getting it all dark and burnt sepia-ish turned out really well! :D I really like her shoulder and the texture on her gloves! Also up close the details in the fence look great, though I can't help but feel it seems a bit too copy/pasted and/or repeated instead of making the top ones lighter and the lower ones more in shadow. I also think the brushed layers in the hair need more smudging - they're a bit too sketchy right now and don't blend in so well with the smooth gradient style of everything else. And although you kept the bg simple, I like the creeping up effect of that blurry yellow stuff, so I would actually prefer to see some more blurry bg stuff behind the fence to give some depth, much like the bg in grayserg's One Kira, Two Kira wall. It could be some blurred hallway/perspective stuff that fades into the distance or something, because to me the wall is split too much into halves of light and dark, so blurred suggestive stuff in the bg would break that up and make it more interesting. And lastly, about the sig, because it's placed on a solid color and is in plain view, it is unfortunately an easy target for rippers to clone away. I would suggest placing your sig on an area overlapping several shades/details to make it harder for rippers to erase, perhaps on her hair instead, or maybe curved onto his collar (you can try an embedded effect to make it look like it's a part of it!).

I really like the background transition, it contrasts Shiro's outer appearance and reflects her inner self. Beautiful vector and colors, her boxing glove doesn't have a certain material, but it looks great with the pattern you used.

The vector is top notch! It's so beautifully made with the details done right! I love how you gave the metal and the gloves some textures. The color scheme is also perfect for the dark atmosphere that you were aiming for. I'm also glad you took Nysha's advice and added in that faint hallway on the left part of the wallpaper. It really completes the wallpaper nicely. <3

THIS WALLPAPER IS FREAKING HUGE! O _O The new revision looks a lot better, the first version looked rather too empty. I love the vector work of the characters and of the fence behind them! I dunno why, but I totally dig the look of the fence, it looks so real and shiny! xD Can't wait to see more wallpapers from you, keep up the awesome work :)

I could have sworn I commented on this already. First of all, this is such a great improvement from your previous wallpapers! I'm in awe.
Not many wallers can create such a deep scene like this one, it's absolutely amazing, especially seeing the original scan. You definitely took it and made it your own. The look on Shiro's face is so well done, it has this alluring gaze I can't resist myself. My fave part of this is that pretty much combines vectoring, painting and some grunge, in a very effective way. Can't wait for more submissions from you.
Maybe now I'll pick again on Deadman Wonderland :P The manga is a killer <3

This image reminded me of the artwork I used to see for Lain, and that is meant to be a compliment. There is something far more atmospheric in your adaptation to the original image, and for such a dark manga that is perfect.
The sepia still gives a sense of warmth too which is a nice touch.

This is wonderful in so many ways.
Firstly, the fence, it looks damn original and not just another copy work you see a lot of around.
The intimate pose also adds more story to the wallpaper.
Also the dark environment showcases the essence of the story.

Great wallpaper from a great anime / manga. The contrast between the two parts, left and right (the man enlightened and the girl in the dark) is interesting. Shiro is wearing mitten ;).

I absolutely love the manga <333 I like Revision 2 more because it looks less empty behind the chain link fence and I love that you incorporated a prison hallway, it really ties into the manga/anime well, since Deadman Wonderland was the name of the prison. The vectoring is awesome and both Shiro And Ganta look amazing! I have to agree that both the collars on them both and Shiro's gloves look really realistic. Definitely a plus because for some it's hard to pull off a realistic effect let alone one that looks so beautifully well done. I do think that you're signature would've been more blended if you put it on Shiro's collar instead. I also love the color in their eyes, very pretty.
