Has been a long time ago since I made a wallpaper. So here is a new one based on an eye-catching scan.
The scan:
First step was to create a vector of the character. Which can be found here with a full description about it as well:
I wanted to make an autumn wallpaper because at the time it was right around the corner. Although not making it to my intended deadline for autumn according to the astronomical calender, weather-wise it is still around the corner here.
My intention was to create the whole wall in Illustrator. The background is not that complex and tried to keep it a bit similar as to the scan. I experimented with several complex things, but that didn't work out and removed it from the wall. So there are 2 Revs, a clean one and one with leaves.

Autumn days make the beatuful girl become a beautiful lady. Orange colors in the wallpaper are drawing graceful atmosphere of autumn very well.

Definitely prefer the tree leaves version, seems a little too empty when it's just the sky, but the leaves scattering adds a nice tough of detail. Beautiful vector, love the soft coloring, especially in her hair. It's nicer than in the original :3 Great colors for the background too, it really creates that autumn feeling <3

This is a very interesting wallpaper as you made the style of the paper very strong toned with a high texture especially in the colors of the girl in it. very well done indeed!1

It’s a nice vector. Sadly, I can’t say the same about the background. Frankly, there isn’t really a background to speak of.
The sky, which makes up to about 80% of the wall, is rather empty and dull to look at. Clouds are hardly visible and they lack definition. The way the falling leaves were arranged feel somewhat unnatural, not to mention weird. Having them placed more randomly within the BG (and also FG) would’ve been better.
Now, you could’ve made the background less empty and more compelling by adding more trees in the distance (side by side; right and left), a couple of lampposts, some more falling leaves, etc. All these could’ve also helped the whole wallpaper in terms of depth, which right now is pretty much non-existent.
I do like the overall color scheme though.

Sorry to say this, but when you said "background", my first thought was "What backgroud...?". You simply just extended the scan by using some similiar colours, you didn't even recreate the clouds from the original scan. ):
The floating leaves seem too stiff, I'd either add more different sized leaves or different looking leaves. The text looks way too strong and heavy compared to the soft colours of the bg. The placement is kinda off too. For an empty bg like this, a two liner + some kind of logo would look the best I think. You could also add silhouettes of far away buildings to fill the bottom part of the wall. And for the upper left corner, a crescent moon would look nice.
As you can see, there are so many more details you could add to the wall without making it look busy or crowded. You did a pretty good job on the vector (though I personally don't really support 100% scan to vector vectors). But a nice looking vector put on a random bg is just not enough for making a good wall. :\

Excellent job on the vector, I like the softness and blending of the colors. Crisp lines too, but I'm kinda with Yina on the BG looking a little empty. Some clouds would be good, in my opinion. Maybe this tutorial would help?

good work with the wallpaper, it's looks beautiful and smooth. but i don't like the front on revision 2 ^^;
you could make the clouds more visible, and the falling leave looks unnatural.
i like simple wallpaper too, but this one looks a bit too empty for me
