Good work on the reconstructions, always nice to see videos of people's progress too. :D Though I think you could have also used this textless and fuller pic of the scene as a ref too, if you didn't already know of it: http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/556842 Because there's a smoke plume on the left side that is now cut by the mountains you cloned in - while it's still a good effort, seeing a ref of the clean image would have helped prevent this (and any other hard to see places). And because I think your final crop is a bit tight - showing a greater, wider expanse of the scene would improve its epicness, so I also think you should have made the HD size as your base, because the (second!) crops of it you made further scrunch the scene and composition (taking out the important top framing of the swords). Also, would be nice to know the approximate time you spent on this in your description too. :D

I think there is nothing in here that a merit any type of praising (much less a rating higher than A or S). But whatever… The only reason this is getting so high ratings is because of the image and the series it comes from, nothing more.

Besides cleaning it up and doing some minor adjustments to it, there is really nothing in this wallpaper to talk about (not noticeable-creative changes, not additions to speak of, etc). Really, you could have at least tried and play a little bit more with it by adding some DOF, FG derby objects (like ashes) or something.

Sorry if this comes as harsh (which I sure it will), but this is my honest opinion about it (no offense). Even if you did fine with the cleaning part and adjustments, there isn’t really anything here to be sugarcoated.

This is a fantastic wallpaper now. You did and great job cleaning it up. Keep up the good work.

I do not have prior knowledge of FSN. Now that's thrown out, my thoughts:

Instant comparison with scan shows that this wall emphasises something else. The scan is bleak, but this wallpaper is bloody, violent and screams 'aftermath.' Part of the reason, I think, is the heightened contrast which brings out the red. Further emphasis is place on the character than the scan, too. I think it fits with the title, but since I have no knowledge of FSN I should not comment on meanings that much.

I like the choice of the scan. It's an epic scan. It led to an epic wall.

Now, quality: high. Watching the video instantly shows attention to detail. Flag, pole, sword, blood as well as clouds are done up such that they much the scan, if visibly different. Middle-left sword has its glare increased, which I do not really know was necessary, but since everything colour contrast increased, it is not a huge problem. I also notice more dark clouds in the wall: I think that's why the character is further emphasised. That is good.

Regarding Zero-R's comments:I think that cleaning in itself is a great job. There are good photographs, and there are great pictures. The time difference between them could only be fifteen minutes. While I agree that taking the scan and cleaning it is not original, it certainly is a piece of good work. There are certain scans where it is difficult to add value to, and then there are high quality scans which are not walls, but could be walled if someone took the time and made the effort.

I love this one, The colors are just PERFECT. Added to favorites and wishlist till i can get it :)

glorious few things are as glorious as saber on a bloodstained battlefield and you retouched the image beautifully when inspected closely it does leave wishes open however pieces of the flag in the top left corner fade into nothing also the blade in the left bottom corner seems blurry and fading and did you have to sign it twice? regardless, higly favable stuff, might be my next desktop...

Ahh, the tone. In relation to the original scan, the tone of this actual wallpaper gives off a sense of despair. Great sharpness added to the wallpaper, the color is easier to distinguish as well. The quality is superb, with no blur whatsoever. My only SMALL gripe is that the original text is nice, if you could create the same version with the text, that would be awesome as well.

Very simple wall, I like it. Great contrast, colors really let off a gloomy atmosphere and you can taste Saber's unease at the mass of death around her. The darks and reds represent that really well. I also like the placements of the swords, good job.
