Dear Reader,

If you are looking for a wallpaper about four cheerful youngsters on a perfect crime quest made by two ill-fated illustrators, look elsewhere. @Horseradish and @Yamaro are intelligent and resourceful adults, and you might expect that they would do great collaborations. Don't. For them, doing a collaboration is really not what they had in mind----but truth be told, they really enjoyed their time in making this wallpaper.

Truth be told, within the depths of the story behind this collaboration, you will notice that this wallpaper was created for all the people who loves typography, FUNKY colors, crazy backgrounds, crime-solving quests, video games, weird ideas (that turn out to be great), and brainstorming.

It is my solemn duty to stay up all night researching, writing, vectoring, messaging, and coloring the history of this wallpaper, but you may be more comfortable getting a good night's sleep or getting a hot mug of cocoa. In that case, you should probably choose some other else's work.

BEHIND THE PAPERS----(SCREEN):

This collab was originally intended to be made by me and my man @FNatt. But, due to the lack of inspiration and motivation on both sides, we decided to drop it.

Me, on the other hand, even though I decided to drop it----I did not drop the entirety of the project at all. I still wanted to finish it. This wallpaper was supposed to be a colorful + typography wall. Since I have another friend, who also shares the same passion with me, I asked none other than @Yamaro himself.

To my great surprise, he accepted my request. I was like, "GREAT!!! (OwO)". So we rambled about things and stuff and then I sent the file to him. I already made a background at that point and I was just expecting some marriage of typography and other stuffs----then again, I got this PM from him saying that he started again the BG from scratch, and I was like, "OH NOES. D:", BUT, he had this weird/crazy idea which I really didn't understand UNTIL he showed me a preview of it (and I realized that the first BG that I made sucked----LOL).

I. WAS. TOTALLY. BLOWN. AWAY. (OwO)

The idea was to create a video game-like interface which plays along the story of Bakuman where Mashiro and Takagi are currently doing their manga of "Perfect Crime Party". We decided to take on that idea and add a little twist to it.

Breaking down the work, my man @Yamaro did all of the arrangement of the elements and the background itself of the whole wall----me, on the other hand, contributed the main character, some vectors, and some ideas as well. TBH, I was kinda shy and embarrassed because whenever I PM him asking if he needs any help, he was like, "Just chillin' here man. All things are cool. (OwO)". LOL. YOU ROCK MAN. \m/

Perfect Crime Quest Developers' Notes

Once upon a time... static up sounds To be correct it was 7 months, 1 week ago. I got a message from Horseradish and he asked about collab. Why not? And slowly, step by step we were doing THIS.

And what's THIS?? This is not simple wallpaper. This is more complicated. So I want you to grab any gamepad or any other device for gaming, then turn off your sense off reality and ENJOY OUR GAME. The game you always dreamed about. Fresh, vibrant, detailed, interesting and PERFECT, so behold - "PERFECT CRIME QUEST", first cooperative action, crime, quest game based on real life.

Don't hesitate, press start button and dive in the insane world of perfect crimes. But before, turn back your sense off reality and read the following: don't get carried away too much, don't forget that you have a real life! Ok, now press start. :3

This game is totally free! But you can support our developers by downloading/commenting/favoring it!

Developers notes:

Many people like games, and like music they can inspire too. So that’s how PCQ was born.

Map was screenshoted by parts: with my screen it took..don't really remember, more than 15 shots.

Interesting.

I like how you both went beyond the default "vector" + brushes = wallpaper, or painting, and you adopted a more different path. I like your idea quite a lot and the wallpaper itself is of high, crisp quality, which is good.

Use of colors make the wallpaper stand out from the rest of the billion stock wallpapers floating around the Internet, and some even on AP.

There is a small path running inside his jacket. I would say remove that.Love the silhouette and the geo-tagging.

Truly ingenious concept, I've never seen something like this before, it's very clever. Love the colors and the way everything falls in place, there are so many details, so much text, it's an explosion of awesome. I wish you were more serious about the typography though. "Here's a little text no one can read" over and over shocked me a little since the rest of the wall isn't rushed, so rushing the tiny text is a letdown.

Zomg so much color and text! \@_____@ Lawlz up close reading the nonsense descriptions on items. XDXDXD It's really great seeing so much love put into this wall's creative process, and that Horseradish did not drop its concept! I think the final product turned out really well and you guys have every right to be proud! I really like all the details and funky colors. *___* (the map details and random stuffz are my fav parts XD) Finally, I'm also eternally grateful the HD version has extended edges instead of top-and-bottom crops that usually murder most walls. I guess the words on the wallpaper are enough to explain the magnificence and all the awesomeness of the wallpaper itself. But that does not end there; viewing the wall in full view is a must, again, it's a MUST! This is to magnify the little details of the background and the wall as a whole, and this is what makes the wall like it is now. Never had the idea of making a map from Google Maps cross my mind. This I say is a new visualization of a wall. Truly an ingenious work from both of you. And this is not limited to the typography style and the map, but also the gaming approach.

One thing I'm concern is the use of the repetitive description of the items such as 'E!PHONE', 'spy glasses', and 'perfect clothing'. I'm sure there is some meaning behind that, however ;)

Anywho, great job on the collaboration. This is a success worth the praise. Nicely done guys! +Fav!~
