Halloween is almost near so i wanted to create a wall for this season.
I know that Halloween is associated with scary themes such as ghost, zombies....etc but i wanted to give my wall a different feel..maybe more revolving around the magical and mysterious atmosphere of that night. So using that idea as my start point, i searched for an image that have a soft sweet feel to which i found in this lovely scan.
I vectored the image in Ai, it took two & 1/2 days to finish. It was interesting working on it especially learning how to use the mesh tool but from the results i still have a long way ahead. With Ps i worked on adding some extra shadows and highlights .
As you can see from the scan, i changed her facial expression from the wondrous gaze into an inviting smile to go with my vision, which is someone having fun on a Halloween and then in a magical moment a cute sexy girl pops up from behind a tree with a warm smile.
For the background, i painted a forest to go with the theme with the addition of some blurred lights to enhance that magical aura of the enchanted forest.
The front tree trunk was created using an image i took of a street tree infront of my home, i basically used it as a texture and added some shadows and highlights to it.
the original scan shows the character wearing a witch custom and since the background was a forest i thought just for fun to add another version with the girl wearing a red cape, as a red riding hood custom.
I added a text version, which at the beginning i thought of making the text engraved in the tree but then i thought why not make it as if it was written on the trunk with a magic pen, since the the whole theme is based on magic.

Awesome wall! I've been lazy for the past few months to make a wall, so I didn't feel like making a wall from the art of my favourite artist, who just happens to be Coffee Kizoku.
I definitely like how the wall has a very nice contrast of colours, while more or less maintaining the main colour theme. The soft background with the flying spirits/fireflies is a very nice touch, especially when the rest of the wall is very sharp. Of course, the main character herself is very nicely done too, with the appropriate lighting and such.

So many awesome versions! Ultimate combo for me is the version with the shawl and the tree-trunk text. Great use of lighting and textures on the character vector too :3 Very cool Halloween style overall, it's so hard to make holiday wallpapers (for me anyway, probably why I only attempted it a couple times... ^^;) without getting cheesy, but this really keeps the atmosphere while staying pretty! <3

I just love how you've painted/vectored her skin! The red, pink and yellow tones in her skin are just gorgeous! As well her hood, just yummy! I would have loved to see some of the little firefly's in the foreground just to draw a little more light to her face.

The background is looking good, that misty forest in the distance looks nice, though the tree the character's standing at could be painted, so it matches in more. She's looking good there in her clothes, she fits to he background well. Nice wallpaper.

Amazing work you did! You did great in changing her look..the smile and eyes fit better in this.im in the love with the background,the forest looks great with the lights and blurryness :) it does gives an enchanted aura!the only thing that i disliked was the text..you could use other font and colour to fit better with the tree! I like all versions but i prefer the latest one,i think it goes better with the theme and i prefer her skin in a darker tone Overall i loved it :D

Wooow! I love the color of shawl, My favorite shade of red :D Contrast between the blurriness of bg and charecter makes me think this is photograph and the text on tree is very fitting. Thank you for making my halloween :D

Her sweet horror in the wallpaper is very mysterious and ironic. Blendings in the colors are are really gorgeous and smooth flowing her deep silence from her heart.

I like the hood versions as it fits better with the rest.I would prefer the text on the revision 2 and 3 have a bit more carving effect, you know, scratching the tree and all. But everything else, they're great =)

It gives an impression that you want to marry that character, because she looks so natural, no excessive or over proportional parts, very well balanced as well, she loos great and beautiful too. Excellent skills on the forest shades! :D

I've always really liked Coffee-Kizoku's artwork, so I was happily surprised when I saw this.
The revision of the wallpaper I like most is the version with the text and cloak on her shoulders. Everything's nicely shaded and colored, I love the purple and black; they're two of my favorite colors, so definite kudos there ;) The pumpkin necklace is a really cute touch and adds onto the Halloween feel very well.
The misty forest and the blurry lights in the background gives off this feeling to me of this girl being a kind witch that you might meet (obviously because of the pumpkin necklace she has on) around Halloween maybe because you got lost in the woods and she appears after seeing you wander around for awhile and decides to reveal herself to you to show you the way out.
