Okay, It's a LONG time since I posted Anything Here, I haven't created that many stuff since the last time, but last week I made this wallpaper and I decided to share it with you guys. I had to vectorize the Mercury Image, only because I couldn't find it in a good enough resolution to use it. Anyway, the main Idea here was to make Sailor Mercury liquid. I know that Neptune is the sailor from seas and oceans, yada yada yada, but for me Mercury is much more associated to water, so I chose her. Anyway, I tried to make a cool effect and I kinda liked the final result. The background was a major pain in the @ss, but I managed to get something tolerable. Maybe I'll alter it in a future revision but No promises. BTW, You think I should Upload the vector here? If you want to dl it say in the comment box and I try to upload it here. Hope you guys enjoy it.
EditJust uploaded a 2nd revision. I tried to add a little bit of life to it, so i experimented those energy lines. I kinda liked the look of it, but I'll probably submit another version xD

I like the idea but the execution is just short of being genius. I think you need to vary the lighting on Mercury a bit to make it seem less flat. The transition from rocky texture to space is sudden, so if you'd added some dramatic lighting, things may have flown better. Overall this lacks depth. Cool idea though.

I do agree that it needs some kind of lighting to get rid of that flat feeling. Pretty much everything I think has already been mentioned by red eclipse.
On the other hand, I really do enjoy the flow it has.

In my opinion the whole wallpaper looks awesome. The only things I don't like are the transitions between the liquid and Mercury. I think she should be blurred more near to the edges where you want to apply the liquid flow (btw. it's really an awesome idea!). Also I think the highlight beneath her does not look that good. However: I'm still impressed, because I didn't see a similar wallpaper for her yet. My first thought was that it's as good as one of the Neptune-wallpapers created by someone on here (with her submerge something attack). But then I figured it still needs a bit of work - but it does already look good. To me the liquid stuff is very convincing - marvelous job on this!

This is a very nice idea! The effect is very cool to have her transition into the water splashes. Though like others have said, it lacks some cohesiveness to bring the whole wall together. For me, it's how her vector lacks some of the grittiness in the background - somehow I feel that besides putting more lighting effects over her, she also needs some subtle texture too to blend her more with the bg. Also up close the edges of her lines and the edges of the water feel over-sharpened - perhaps a subtle gaussian blur could smooth them out a bit. Overall good idea and good scan choice (her pose is great for this!). :D

@Red-Eclipse, I had another version of it with a light coming from her chest medallion, but It was an early experiment with some flaws i forgot to correct in the vector, so I didn't used it later. To be honest with you (and all of you who didn't liked the lack of connection between the BG and all the idea, it was kind of a "in a hurry" decision") I'm trying to work on it. An I will try to apply 2 lighting effects I wanted to use in the beginning but then forgot. @kyoshiro20 Thanks, I'll try to surprise you then with the second revision. @divStar There's already some blur occurring there, But I may try and use another Technic to apply it. I'd never done this effect, so I was improvising all the way. I'm glad you liked the effect and the idea. Maybe as the previous comments suggested, with some light variations the all image will get another look. wait and see ;) @Nysha I often do that silly mistake, I apply textures and effects in the bg layers, but leave the vector nearly untouched. I know it may stand out more Because of it's flatness comparing w/ the BG, but I'm thinking of a way to correct it. Great suggestion with the water. I really thought it was only my impression, as I stared so many hours at that wallpaper, but the water actually had something that I couldn't put my finger on. I'll see how it looks after!
Overall thanks for all you great suggestions, I really would LOVE to improve this wallpaper, as I really wanted this concept to work, and your suggestions might be the thing I needed to improve it ;)

The fade effect and water effect look very impressive, the sandy background goes well. Very nice job, needs a bit more lighting considering the blackness maybe too much.

I have to say that this wall looks great. I love the way you did her attack. The simplicity of the background really keeps your eye drawn to the image of Mercury. Nice work!
