My first wallpaper for 2012!!!
I'll have you know that I've been such a big fan of Gundam SEED for many years. I'm quite happy that Gundam Seed has an HD remake. It's so nice to see the episodes again. Of course, I'm still loving my favorite Cagalli.
Now on to the wallpaper...I wanted to do a wallpaper with Cagalli in it. I was initially going for Kira and Cagalli together until I saw this scan: http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/390305
Chibi characters are so cute, and I'm especially enamored by the fact that it also featured Rey and Shinn. I started with the lineart right away. I didn't go with just plain old black lines. It didn't take me that long to finish it up. Coloring was very fun. I also used soft brushes and gradient for the job too. I added the clouds, the mushrooms, and the fire from the original scan to completed the wallpaper.
Poor Shinn...and Rey's having too much fun with this. Cagalli looks so innocent and cute!!! XD

oh my god, i can't stop laughing!
and if you hadn't mentioned it, i probably wouldn't have noticed the non-black lines in this. Now that i'm seeing it tho, you're right, it does make it a whole lot better. nice work!

I'm kind of wondering why you used colored lines for hair and the clothes on one character and the mushrooms, but you used black lines on the other two characters. The colors are a bit saturated for me, especially when I look at the original image. I think that yellow gradient around the fire helps to blend the fire in with the background on the original image too. It's a good wallpaper though, very clean and high resolution
