I try to make the wall the moment I see the picture and it's easy to pick up the two character from the white background in the picture. The background maybe a little bit difficult to achieve.I revised many times.Well the color I like , different from the usual green and yellow--blue and red also suit the brother and sister. Except for the background , the wall cost me 1 hour to finish including pick up the character and adding signatures. Wish you like it.
**Under experts' guide I finally made some revise , but with limited photoshop techniques the final version may not satisfactory still. I'm learning more about the render and the PS. Thanks for all your suggestions and I know there is a long way to go. **

The render needs a little more of work, you can see white spaces between the fingers of Kirino that must be from the original scan. The borders need more work too.

The concept of the wall is good, but need to check the render, I would recommend that you vectorized or to find a vector, with better quality, so I think that would be better.

Yes maybe I should start from finding a vector and not so eager to make the white background scan into a wall...Anyway thank you for your suggestions and I've learned a lot.

Agreed a vector is probably a good idea, because you can see pixelation, and rough lines in the foreground image. I think it looks a little bit plain, especially with that big empty blue section in the right. I think playing around with lighting will make things look a bit more interesting.

Having made some revise but I 'm not sure whether I understand your opinions right...Some grains are added to the empty blue section.(ToT I feel ashamed to say I don't understand " playing around with lighting" ~~~~(>_<)~~~~ ) Anyway thank you for the advice and I've learned a lot from this.

I really like the background quite a bit and the second version added a nice touch. My only nitpicks are that the characters don't really match the background and their cut out needs some serious clean up.

the background is interesting and it has a christmassy feel to it but i don't think it matches the colors of the scan that well, since the light blue is a bit random in the left corner. also there's still a bit of the outline of the scan, but it's definitely getting there so keep up the good work!
