:) I actually got done with this wallpaper about a week and a half ago. My first wallpaper I did bigger than 1920x1200.
Had tons of fun with this uh like I do most of my walls. XD The extracting took sometime though as well as placing the lanterns right and not revealing their cut off parts. I actually took one half of a lamp and place it opposite then used clone stamp to try to make it a full lamp. There were more than this that is showing, but I didn't want to it to look too crowded.
This was for a challenge on TheOtaku. :) Lots of layers. XD Did some sharpening and adjusting the lighting and all that jazz. =)
So...yeah. :)

It is difficult to make an impressive wall using the artwork of Der Jen, as well as Chen Shu Fen. Well, to be honest, you've done a pretty job here. XD
I like how you combine different scans for your artwork. It blends well together since you are using the materials of the same genre. The colours, the texture and the brushing...everything looks great here. You've done a good job duplicating the lanterns and the extracting of the scans are fine. Good job on that.
However, perhaps you can add more details like shadowing for the character. Perhaps you can experiment on using different textures on differrent parts, rather then just manipulating the Old Paper texture. For the smoke brushing near the word 'serenity', the opacity can be lowered as it seems too heavy. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I appreciate all your words. =) I never thought about shadowing for a character...that is something to keep in mind for future wallpapers. I normally do experiment, but I didn't want to go too crazy, but it doesn't hurt to try new things. XD I would go back and work on it more, but I don't have the progress for it so I'll just keep your words in mind in future wallpapers. Thanks again. :)
