The Puella Magi Side Of Life

Not a fan of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, but hey...this wallie really caught my attention. XD

I really like the 'Coca-cola' concept of it. It works great for this wall with the use of black as the base colour to bring out the vivid colours of the girls. The placing of objects did not make this wall messy and cramp as you have managed to use black to make a contrast of it. This kinda reminds me of a scene I saw in an anime movie entitiled 'Summer War'.^^

Clean vector...great design (Do I need to mention this? lolz) It dosesn't matter about the blank bg as the characters managed to pull everything together.

A great wall that should not be missed. Well done after 12 months as it comes out brilliant! Hope to see more of your wallies. XD

I was about to logout when I saw this on the latest entries----and I thought, "Hey! It's been a while since we've last seen a wall from you!" :D

As much as I LOVE the ads of Coke too----and your love for parodies as well----------I would like to point out/suggest some things that you might want to consider----or not. LOL. I don't like how black the outlines are in your wallpaper OR how white the background is. Maybe if you used colored outlines instead, it would make it look livelier and more vibrant than it is right now. Because in the ads of Coke, it's always a splash of colors. Or maybe if you didn't use their original colors for the outlines and for the main colors too to give it that nice contrast and catchy look to it----just like THIS one. OR it could use more elements that is bursting from below. IDK. Hahahaha. Just try and see what attracts you.

Your parody walls are always fun to look at. It's also PMMM! Of course your concept is just awesome. I need my drink full of magical girls and witches. All the witches you threw into the mix to help kill the empty space makes it a lot more fun. It looks like you paired some of them with witches they have a relationship with. There's is a lot of detail into this wall that makes it glue together to become whole. The black silhouettes to me represent the darker side of PMMM. Since they're just black it also acts as a support for the color up front. I see you've enjoyed blending your logo into the wall a couple of times lol.

I think it would have been funnier if kyuubey resembled a coke bottle more. Like adding a splash or bottle neck to the top of his head. Then it would look like he is spraying all his "contents" upward.

I agree with Horse about the white background. Maybe changing it to an off-white or pale color. It can make a huge difference from being very luminous or relaxing to eye while still maintaining it's white color. I played around with the wall a bit and I liked #fffff0 for the background which will just be my personal version. There's been enough rainbows lately in the SB so I am glad you didn't go with the rainbow vomit scheme of the original ad lol.

Now, it’s hard not to compare both wallpapers when both of them are using the same exact idea. If compared, I gotta say that the wall from KHR nailed the concept-idea a lot better than yours. Don’t get me wrong, yours isn’t bad. It’s just doesn’t come as exciting as the other one. Maybe it’s the composition and arrangement of elements that aren’t doing it for me. Your overall composition has this very static feeling that I’m not feeling it’s working with this type of idea. The other problem would be the colors. Less black, more colors might’ve been a better way to approach this concept, in my opinion.

Well, sorry if this came out harsh. It’s just my opinion. I wish I could the like the other guys and say great things about it, but I just can’t. Especially after seeing the same concept used almost flawlessly before.

I love your source of inspiration for this piece. I think it worked out beautifully and you have a great eye for incorporating art within other works of art.

The colors in this piece are so striking and sharp, and they really come out beautifully defining the characters, and every other piece of detail in this wall.

This looks very fresh, and it caught my eye immediately as I opened the page.

I am always biased towards works with excellent use of white space and minimal clutter. It's also great to see some art direction in this latest wall of yours! In my humble opinion, The color choice for the witches is quite good as they are neither too distracting nor too boring. The arrangement of the elements in the background provides just the right amount of excitement. Good choice placing Mami in the center, as well. I don't think Madoka's pose would have gone well with her in the center.

Just a few things, and I'm nitpicking here: I never use pure black, It's too powerful and even a tiny amount manages to kill other colors. Maybe 80% black or Pantone Process Black would work.

When vision and execution come together, they result in walls like these.

I have always liked the look of a set of images bursting out of a single point. Combine this with the fact that Madoka is one of my favorite animes and this is definitely going to be used as a wallpaper by me.
