I had the insane thought of doing an original art even if I don't own a graphic tablet (yeah, I use just a mouse). First version was horrible, I don't like it at all. So I played with colors balance, saturation and contrast. As last step I smudged almost everything with smudging tool and filter. It turned out weird, but it's a bit better compared to the first one, imo.
The most hard part has been hair: them gave me a lot of issues. I tested different methods for colorization, but smudging brushes them seemed gum-ish -.- without smudging them seemed fabric -.- as last attempt I used smudged paths. Here you can see part of my WIP.
Clouds are layers made with a smudged Photoshop brush (the 'leaves scattered' brush).
Character is vectored following my sketch as guideline for linearts. I got inspiration for hairstyle and pose from this photo.

o wow, this is beautiful^^ the detail on the hair is great, even though it was trouble it was worth it^^ and considering that you didn't use a tablet the hair looks great^^ good overall job but i think you could have chosen a better background^^

I really appreciate this effort. It is terrific. Like Nat I am taken with your drawing style in my case however, the effect reminds me of charcoal on parchment. The blue of her eyes and the sepia are a perfect blending of hues. The sketch is nice but you fire-polished it perfectly. There are no rough edges here. Thanks for sharing.

This is absolutely beautiful! The smooth color gradients and palette are really enchanting. I really like the color choice too! The clouds are really well made too, love the light and gradient work!

Okay, at first I didn't read the category so I was gonna ask which anime that is, because it looks really cute xD. Love it! The drawing is just so full of detail and it's so smooth... bah, I wish I could do something like that xD. The only thing I think it's missing is something in the backgoround, I mean, as it blends great with it, it just feels kinda empty, you know what I mean? (PS: i tried to fave it after commenting but it's not working ;-;)

I like the way the piece blends together so well. The color tones don't clash at all, even when you add in the blue for the eyes. Looks like you put a lot of thought into it.
