So at long last I finally submit a wall again.
To think I haven't posted in over 6 months it's a down right sin =O.
But something different this time, more me, fruit from my own inspiration =w= yush, original anime art all the way. I can't say I've done this easily, spent over 8 months on this baby. But I hope you'll enjoy it nevertheless ^^
I love kimonos, and they are an important aspect of Japanese culture to me. Hence, my mission to creat beautiful artwork inspired by this theme. Look forward to more similar stuff ;3
many thanks to my endless list of supporters over the years: @Akiranyo,@Vampluva, @Isshi, @Bantam, @Reesha, @Brosteb, @Himitsukou, @Aladdin, @Acidtreat101 and many many others I'm forgetting right now <3

___ WOW! This masterpiece just takes my breath away!
This wallie is full of yummy details - starting from kimono patterns, sakura, various jap-related knick-knacks and finishing with pillows, silks and floor. I can't get my eyes of her - she is amazing! I like the smooth and soft skin tones - make her looking alive and more seductive /I mean especially shading on her breasts, lol/; her eyes are also very bright and 'living', just 'shooting' you with their tempting gaze! Her hair stylizing is just awesome!
I'd like also to praise the work on the transparent veil - it looks very natural and seems really floating and soft! I also liked how you did the pillows - they look so silky and 'touchably' real!; and I liked the interior in general - it has that Japanese 'flavour' with bamboo mats...
Well, I could go on and on but... this is a real masterpiece! I see you put all your soul and mind into her, and the result turned out to be just marvelous!
+fav and she goes straight to my desktop! Hope to see more hotties like her!

There's a lot to say about this wall, but I want to just say something simple:
This wall is too beautiful to set as a desktop and desecrate it by putting icons on it!
It's beautiful and well done, good work!

There's just so many details to this. You have put in an amazing amount of effort into this! the kimono looks amazing, all the folds and gradients is absolutely superb. I love the checkered waistband, reminds me of chanelbiscuits! I love all the strands of hair and the work on the face. Yeah, this is definitely a good one!

So, after spending months and months outside of the commenting zone, and with other walls that I really need to hit comments up on (I'm looking at you, Isshi), I really wanted to give a comment on this. Since this is your big return, I figured I'll take this chance and return as well. Let's hope that my return will be even remotely close to as amazing as yours.
First off, it's incredible to see that you've gone for transforming existing images, to now creating your own completely. You certainly have established a fantastic style as well, as shown with the nice doll-like face that's got a great deal of love given to it. My only suggestion would be to perhaps give the hair some roundness, instead of the points that some of it has in the upper area. Otherwise, the detail given to her hair, nails, eyes and face itself is absolutely stunning. It wouldn't be a Queen wall without a bit of ecchi, and you did a fantastic job capturing the allure and appeal of your character. By far that kimono is the more visually stunning piece I have ever seen. I was drawn into the previous kimono piece you did, and to see you create something like this only shows the volumes you have come since then.
For the background itself, I was very pleased by the shadowing, and the way you gave the pillow the imprint of her weight. I love how everything is just spread out, laid bare. It ties in nicely with the image you created and creates a very beautiful overall theme. I also enjoyed how you gave the foreground pillow more detail, but left the others blank, since they would be more background pillows and not in the foreground. With the silk and cloths spread out as well, there is a lovely amount of colors that balance the piece nicely and don't detract from the image, but also help give it that little bit extra as well. From the pillow tassels, to the detail on the her hair accessory, this wallpaper is jammed packed with great eye-catching details.
If this is a product of your time away, I wouldn't mind if it you were gone from walling again for another six months. By far your strongest piece to date and most detailed, this truly is a testament to not only the style you have established, but how much you have grown as an artist. Absolutely stunning work!

This is also what I was about to say but Crim stoled it.

Julie, Bantam stole my comment.
The amount of effort, love, and dedication put into this singular piece of work is simply spectacular.

I'm a sucker for OAAs and this is no exception. LOL. I really think that you outdid yourself here. The kimono is indeed a sight to look at. I'd go crazy if I ever made one like that. (OwO) Anyway, I just can't stop staring at it right now. LOL. YOU ARE GOOD JOB! XD

From the thumbnail, I can already identify your wallpaper. Nice come back wall btw!
What I love in here aside from the kimono is the pink transluscent sash.
I miss your PH wallpapers though...

i can never hit this level lol, sad but amazing that people like you can even make something like this, my favorite part is that amazing kimono you made it's really a sight to see, this is amazing stuff and you should be very pleased with yourself!

Goodness gosh XO you finally finished it! And it's gone through so many different face and hair revisions - I'm sure the bg just as many! It's really good to see you back. :D Now, I'm sure you've already worked yourself to death over this, but the piece can be stronger - for instance, her eyes right now appear to be glazed over and not really focusing on anything in particular. To make the wall more engaging, shift her eyes slightly so they are gazing directly at the viewer. And speaking of the viewer, it also appears the main light source is coming straight from the viewer's direction as well, and if not then it's very hard to determine. When you paint I would suggest picking a directional light source from the beginning in order to place the necessary shadows and highlights that give volume and depth. Because again like one of your last kimono walls, the layers of cloth and even the skin appear like paper pages in a scrapbook stacked on one another, instead of having the lower layers of cloth recede into the background (floor) with shadows and the girl popping into the foreground with appropriate highlights. Overall your wall and its quality are very good (like usual), but it just lacks the defining shadows, highlights, and a light source to really bring your character to life.

yay, finally u submitted a wall ^^ , this girl is really pretty and have so many good details, but my favourite is the kimono of course. I always loved kimonos, so when i see one i fall in love haha, love the color you used and the sakura flowers <3 , and in the bg ^^ i like. all the tiny details u worked, very good job sweetie!!
i still want to see more "background lighting". right now looks very neutral. well later we can talk about that in msn ^^, i did a fast example to show u what im saying for example let's pick up this girl and put in a japanese room in the night with some jap lamps and the door open+moonlight http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36702962/Nueva%20carpeta/123456sds87990.jpg
kudos and chuu for you for all the effort ^^, let's keep working and going up!!!!!!!
im proud of u ^^ bye! and of course +fav

I'm not too sure what to say... On one hand your work is fantastic, elegant, beautiful and any other words that would positively reflect this wallpaper. Though, on the other hand... it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable.
The amount of detail in this wallpaper is incredible, from the individual folds of her kimono to the transparent veil, everything is almost perfect. Her posture along with the placement of the surrounding items is definitely suggestive [as with the title] (which is what you're aiming for anyways). The kimono patterns are beautiful as well as the design on the pillows (and 'dat' veil!).
Now the reason for my uneasiness is that she feels lifeless. I'm not sure how to explain this but I feel as if she's giving me a blank/dead stare [or maybe doll faces just creep me out in general...]. Her hair while beautifully done to show individual strands has this "magazine cut-out" feel to it, especially the upper parts.
Personal reasons aside, your work is incredibly beautiful and I hope to see more from you!

It is great to see this wallie at last! huggles
Like I said earlier, I really like the details especially the flowers on the kimono and pillow. They are simply fine and beautiful. My fav part would be the sakura on the kimono. <3
Well, perhaps like the others have pointed out, the weight on the pillow, more in-depth shadowing on certain parts will make it better =3 Anyway, forget about that, this wallie is yummy enough that I have to use it as my desktop wallpaper now.
The hardwork and long wait are worth it, my dear, You've done a good job!

Julie, this is a really nice one but, you are always on top of the nuances of detail. I am late in commenting on this one so I wont waste your time by just repeating some of the nicer comments, which I completely agree with. Let it suffice for me to say: thanks for sharing this one and I am looking forward to you next submission.

Holly crap!! Is what my face just looked like there haha! The more I stare at it the more i find new things, its exciting :D
I love how everything looks so silky, and like you want to touch it! I like how detailed her background his but it doesn't over power her at the same time, her hair is amazing, though i think ive said that in all the walls of yours that i have commented on!! Her eyes...kinda creep me out... though in a good way! Cause it reallly looks like shes staring at me waiting for something O: The hair pins on the right side look a little big but other than that i love it, its amazing, your amazing, omg lush haha!!!! Teach me ;_;

Copy/paste from MT:
But there is a problem with this kind of coloration style; I mean, I really like this tecnique, but you should find a way to merge all the the differents part of this work...Because like this, it's like every "part" (the body, the eyes, the kimono, ecc ecc) are totally detached from each other >.< Expecially the hair, they're really details, and I like it, but they seems to much "rigid"...they're unnatural like that :(
However, ignoring this little problem, good job! :D

You have a valid critique there Raf-chan. The thing is that chanelqueen has pretty much turned that kind of sharp contrast into an individual form of artistry. You should check out some of her prior submissions. If she were a lesser talent I would be inclined to think of her technique as an inability to capture the reality of how beautifully light and color can merge, but after having seen several of her walls I interpret what you are referencing as a really interesting and nice way of emphasizing dramatic effects of color and light. It is her style and I am not sure that a change would be more of an aesthetic.

Since I don't see my name between your supporters I assume that you consider me as your Queen of Ecchi, so basically you are one of my subordinates and thats the way how it should be, my little lamb. Anyways I thought I throw here my comment, cause the members got so lazy recently, that you rarely see even comments anymore, except some spam for wigs, purses and etc.
Well, whats the great about this one, is the extreme amount of detail. That goes mainly for the kimono, and partially on the tatami ground. A minor thingie - the shades of the character feel a bit unnatural, noticable a bit on the forehead and a very lil bit on the middle part of boobs (might be caused by the too bright triangle on the cleveage). The hands theyselves look extremly good though, not a single bit of complain there from my side.
In overall is a 1st class piece which shows both the skill/experiece of the creator, and also the sense for great detail. BUT, if I consider the fact that is a original art wallpaper, the already higly positive opinion of mine about this is multiplying even more. Not many artist can do good wallpapers from some basic resources. And even less of them can do good wallpapers from mere nothing. Obviously you are between the ones who can and also there wil be people like we who can bow before such talents. Arigatou, Julie. (Im getting soon a new monitor, so I can enjoy this treasure on 16:9 instead my old 4:3)
PS. I remember you speaking also about a group kimono wall or do you plan to them seperately? PPS. Cannot await myself there...

Looking at this picture now that it's finished, one can see that it has many nice touches to it. Even so, it is far away from your other kimono wall, the Underneath the sakura tree.
There's no natural light and shadow on this one, making it overly bright, and losing the sense that she's in a Japanese style room. You'd see this brightness in an enclosed space. The tatami mats also could be in a darker shade, so it fits the purple color of her dress. The transparent ribbon around the character's arm fades in and out at the pillows. Her obi doesn't suit the kimono. You'd only see that coloring on a racing flag. The eyes seem too big, maybe from the shape. The hair, accessories and facial expression looks artificial as well.
Still, it's a very nice wallpaper.

It's really a nice wall and to be an original art work makes it more impressive ^^ Love how you created many details and my favorite is the kimono...it is just breath taking... and the details on the pillow is lovely, although i wished that you added patterns to the other back pillows but other than that the wall is just eye catching ......really congratulation on creating such a wonderful wall +fav

Gorgeous! Love the girl, the pose, the colors, just everything :3 You've really designed a beautiful kimono there, the checkered obi is such a nice touch. You can really see all the love that's gone into the fabrics and ribbons and details on this. Congrats on being awesome!
