Hi!
This wallpaper was made from this scan:
I like the pose and expression, she's both mysterious and elegant... So I tried to create a BG that bring her to light. I hesitate about cherry blossom (as on the original picture) but I tought it's not really novel, so I chose water theme (as often!) but in drawing splashing water as if she had to plunge his sword into the water. I worked really hard on it! Then I added some lightning points (glitter), worked on the whole in playing with colors, contrast, saturation. I submit 2 different versions, one by day, one by moonlight.
I hope you'll like!

If I may say this, just wow. I mean, both are awesome and each one is beautiful in itself. But the fact that you made them both is just awesome.
The first one I think has a very magical fairy kind of feeling with the sparkling water in the sunset like light. The kimono and obi are simply precious and delicate and very distinguished. The second revision is more mystical in a night feeling, it has more mystery and a more vampire romantic aura about it. The moon in the background is very nice too.
The lighting in this one is less dashing than the first one but non the less very well done. Vectoring and composition are pretty classical but technically flawless. In the second one I would suggest doing something darker behind the white decorations on the kimono in order for them to be easier to spot. In that light the detail gets lost in the whole.
I just realized that the reflection of the moon makes her look like she is getting out from the water. Maybe darken that part of the background or remove the moon would help undo this effect if it was not a desired one. Two thumbs up anyways!

I honestly think this is one of your best works! The splash effect is very well done! It's very fluid and the light is just right! Excelent choice of colors in both versions! The kimono pattern looks awesome in both...you really made it shine by itself without dominating the rest of the picture! The sky in both picures...truly lovely! I also think you were brilliant when you made the moon a bit fuzzy instead of more detailed...it doesn't shadow the girl but gives a nice detail to the sky! Excelent work!!

The background looks very good on the pictures, they have nice coloring and ripples on the water. The character also looks good, though on the nightly picture her skin is pale as a doll's, not a human's. Still nice wallpaper.

One word: GORGEOUS! I love, love this wallpaper, especially that you did "night" and "day" versions. I especially love the night version. Did you vector the water, or make it with brushes and filters? It looks simply amazing :). I can't think of anything that would make this wallpaper greater then it already is. Thanks for another great one!

Nice work again ^_^...my favorite version is the first one, the background fits with the character and you choose the colors very well, it gives me a warm feeling, is like she's dancing in the sunset...the second revision looks like a scene from the anime, I love it...Those two wallpapers are pretty much the same but the background make them seem really different, one by day and one by night is a really cool idea. This wall is gorgeous, hope to see more wallpapers made by you from this anime.
Keep up the good work ^^

Spectacular wallpaper, both versions are great, but the first goes to my desktop. I like the water in the sword and the background is incredible, like all the components and details of the overall image. Thank you ... n_n +

As for me the second one goes for my wall since (in my opinion) dark background fits better for her :D

Upon looking at the thumbnail, I gotta say I love the glow of golden brown in the hair as well as the Blue part of the kimono, and the water. BUT upon closer look, I was kinda unsure of it. For one thing, the glow in the hair is too blurry, it would be nice if it wasn't that blurry at all. The skin is once again weird.Well, you have this golden brown in your hair, so why is her skin - especially the face part still pale + white glow? A touch of warm color would be nice to match the hair. I will not comment on the Sunset version because, it really looks odd - I mean the way you color it like slapping a single color to the whole wallpaper and then lowering it's orange opacity so that it will blend with the whole BG --> I think that's just wrong because it doesn't bring out the vivid colors of the whole wallpaper.

Finally, new Kara no Kyoukai Wallpaper, thanks for sharing it looks cool the only thing I'm gonna say it's that the color of her skin in moonlight is like more to Black & White (i have no other way to say it) it need to be more like the scan
thanks

If I had to choose one word to describe this piece, it'd be "elegance". Her posture in combination with the background and water splashes of water comes together to become what I'd call elegance. Her kimono is beautifully done (love the detail) and the splashes of water is a really nice touch. While I prefer the night setting (there seems to be more detail than Sunset version), the character's skin tone is much too pale and seems unnatural [almost dead]. As someone has pointed out before, her hair seems a tad odd. The upper shadows could be a bit sharper as they seem slightly too blurry at the moment compared to the rest (I'm sure the blur is the same throughout but the colour difference just makes the top part seem more blurred). Other than that, lovely!

0_0 I am actually pretty mad at you right now, how am I suppose to pick between the two? They are both really amazing!
I love the water effects you made around her the most but the vector is also very well done (as aways I might add). Color choice in both versions work really well ...just what am I suppose to say...everything is perfect.
Kudos!

I made an account just to download this fabulous piece of work. From the splashes of water that ring from the first movie to the moon which reflects her mysterious personality; just marvelous.
