Shibano Kaito Mochi!

o wow this is sooooo cute! i love it! the kimono looks great and so does the hair and skin, the gradient work looks great. the only thing i would say is that the quality of the front leg isn't up to the same quality as the rest of the image, the gradient work isn't good. but thats all^^

Was battling my thoughts and this side of me now delighted at this vector vanquished the other. Summarizing the beauty of it on high... "Well done sir."

Now wondering if one can glomp then eat at that large mochi(?) on which she's lying down.

Okay, well where do I start other than saying OMGOODNESSFREAKINGAWESOME! xD

As I said to you in the sb, when you first arrived in the sb and asked about joining Vecta Desu, and then chose THAT scan, I was pretty sceptical. I thought, no way is this newbie going to pull a difficult scan like that off well. Well, hell... you well and truly proved me wrong and Wow!! You just blew that scan out of the water and made it your own with the colour changes. I'm loving the colouring, it really livens the character up, she seemed a little muted beforehand. But now she really POPS!! The green for the Mochi was a bold move but one that paid dividends, it really does add to the overall awesomeness of the vector.

Your shading though is what has me going gaga over this vector the most. The gradation of the shades is just so natural, it all blends so beautifully. Your lines are crisp and clean, no leaks in colour that I can see at all. A few shadows could have been added in the clothing, but it's not glaringly obvious stuff. Btw, I love the pattern on her Yukata, superbly done!! Your colouring on the gold ring too is just wonderful, you really do use colours wonderfully! My only issue with her at all is with her eyes, I think they needed some more depth, a bit more 'life' to them. Compared to the rest of the vector her eyes seem just a little flat in comparison.... oh and the no fingernails on her dangling hand...

oh and I so want those Usagi clogs, they look so damn cute =P

Hey Akuma, haven't see you in a while so I am glad to see that you finished your VectaDesu entry. This is really good work, considering it's your first on this site, and it's definitely a step above the work I saw you do before. The gradients look good, she is really shiny and cute. The only thing I would critique is that some of the outlines look a bit point, like for example on the toe of her front foot, the stocking looks a bit too squarish at parts with straight angles are opposed to curves. Maybe the scan was like that but personally I like to make the vector artwork very flowing and smooth, especially on this style of vector. Anyways good work and I look forward to seeing more of your works!

Oh wow, this is eye-poppingly awesome. The final result is miles ahead of the source! What I can't get enough of are the patterns on the clothing coupled with the lighting and shadow. Pure beauty. Your final product is also so much more vibrant than the original; something I really enjoy seeing in vectors.

Though... upon full-view the lineart could use some more refinement. A lot of the lines are quite jagged and really do take away from what would be a brilliant piece of work. The hands suffer the most from this making them seem unnatural. However, it's pretty amazing what newcomers can do; my first is not even comparable to this. Anyways, good job and good luck!

When I first saw this vector a few days ago, it really caught my attention. I really like the shades of colours used. It is vibrant and beautiful, compared to the original scan. The pattern on the clothes are fine and pretty. =3 I really like the style, to be honest. Plus, this can be used to make a pretty cute wallie. XD

A frist vector can be a good vector, as long as you have the skills and experience.
