I still remember the scene in Mayo Chiki when our dear protagonist faints and his normally hyper younger sister is paralyzed by fear of him dying just like his father. I was caught off guard, and that feeling of realizing the value of something you take for granted can really make you think - and in a way inspired me to make this wallpaper.
I wanted to convey that magical moment of waking up, resting comfortably on the lap of your love. A blurred and unreal, yet vivid and beautiful scene like out of a dream that leaves you breathless. Even tough you don't see it that often, Konoe's girlish and caring side really shines through at times. In this scene I imagined her thinking something along the lines of "What if he never wakes up again?", only to moments later look into his eyes unsure of whether to smile or cry.
The vector itself was traced from a screenshot, but even though I felt it lacked a lot of detail...in one way it was perfect. I spent a ton of time on building the atmosphere, keeping the balance between focus and blur, and creating a sky that was lovely and rich yet didn't steal the attention from Konoe herself. I wish I could say that it was perfect, but I'm no longer that naive. I just hope someone likes and enjoys it!

As a big fan or Mayo Chiki! and a big fan of Konoe, i gotta say I love it <3. Such a clean, crisp and touching vector. It's simply beautiful. The perspective is a little weird, but nothing wrong with that :D

Dammit, I would make sure to make her happy and I'd be the only one that would make her cry or tear like that... in a positive way.

I agree, gotta love crisp looking walls! I know people use blurs etc artistically, but im just more of a sharpener :p. I can definitely see the dilemma with the two revisions you had, but for me the all blue one worked much better on the eyes. For some reason the purple in the back felt more distracting to the eye than its blue variant. I would have thought it would have helped compartmentalize /seperate the two parts of the wall, but it actually distracted me from focusing solely on Konoe. As you have rightfully focused on this aspect in your title, her eyes, her eyes, her eyes! They look beautiful! Its one of the few items in pictures/walls etc that stand out to me/catch me/ will overwrite even more ecchi variants for me if they have beautiful eyes. Anywho, I think my only gripe [this is totally personal preference for use of a wall for me, not a negative on your work] is shes crying, even if it is a moment of reassurance. For walls seeing the tears, hurts the heart! Especially when it is of such an angelic char to boot:p Irregardless, thank you for such a great work!

This image tine a good angle, plus the background color blends well with the character's eyes, although I think the feeling of distance does not produce the desired effect.

Love it, but I have one criticism. The eyes are almost too good. They explode past the background. If I were you (and if I had any artistic talent whatsoever) I'd increase the definition on the background. I think that would make the wall seem more uniform. Its been a while since I've given out a fav so here, have one. You deserve it.

You made a great job with her shadings, and with that blending her into a night background scene. Many ppl just throw them into some random BG and just darken it. The only thing about is that the outlines of her kimono (yukata) feel a bit thick and with such a closeup, simplifies her looks. But her glowing eyes and her smile...must fav this.
