hmmm not much to say (uso) ermm this is a vector so old that i can't remember from where... cof-2010-cof OFC the wallpaper itself (the subject) was made for this kind of vector, the bicolor, the simple and clean aspect, neat & minimalist as much is possible.
yuyuko is my fave of touhou world
I did overthink about it, because always something is missing right? (a insane thing of mine) so with the past of the years i made few changes every year, recently checking old old old wip's I found this covered of dust and i liked how it looks, did few changes, and let's bring this to ap for once. That's the story behind.

The moment I saw this wallpaper, I couldn't help but become entranced by it (I have a penchant for simplicity). Everything in this wall caters to my fancy; bicolour, simplicity, abstract background. Great job! /fav

I'm glad we have the same most favorite character in Touhou Series. And you've altered her palette real good.

She needs more definition in her color and the overall shadows and highlights as well, IMO. She looks flat right now against the BG. Right now, the scan has more definition to it. Simple gradients in her color really does change the overall look of a vector. The background looks nice as well----although it could use some colors at some points, though I love the muted look of it. The fan that the character is holding needs that folded look to make it look more authentic----though I can see in the scan that it doesn't have that but I think you should go beyond and own the image rather than just recreating it.

Well she can't have more colors if the thing I wanted to do is a "monocolor technique" don't ya think? she also had a 5% to 100% of grays tones, 5 to 5 increasing, some others parts goes to 2 more % of pure gray, i am talking about.. around 25 hues just of shades/grays, and on top that she had a redish gradient with some blending modes, which increase all the work behind. Of course, the scan had more difinition, you may note that this a "minimalist wallpaper", gratefully I had the intention to transform, change and synthesize the original art to this, to pursue that aspect (minimal~) i was looking for, she is in a bright scenary like being drowned by the light and then.. she is in there with her red lines, passionate and ephemeral. Being in a luminous abstract place i have no intention to exagerate the shades to make her stand, because is not necesary. Of course that's my vision, each and every one of us even me, had many ways to look at this, to find a different answer and make it different. But i seriously if people do read the description may know why I did how i did it, even if i do not explain too much, "minimal" express enough. Thanks for your comment.

I can see that you were going for the "minimalist" approach though what I mean about the colors is that they could be better and more defined/refined in a monochromatic way like these walls:
Although the wallpaper is monochrome with just a splash of red, you can still see the simplicity and richness of the colors without attracting too much attention and still keeping that "minimalist" approach of yours. What I'm just also trying to say are just mere suggestions/ideas/opinoins that may/may not help. Also, if you're talking about minimalism, I'm not quite sure if your BG is under that category because you've made an abstract BG that looks quite busy to me TBH. It might be simple in terms of the overall appearance but the BG is definitely busy.
Anyway, nice to see walls from you again.

Don't worry i understand your point, you have to consider the bright scenary, because the enphasy is not in the black and withe at max.
Not because meets with certain characteristics as those beauty examples it most to look like that, i do not pursue that, if i want to, or if that was the original idea maybe would look like. but not, this is what make it mine, and make it like those examples won't make it better, just would make it similar.. my goals, my ideas do not reside in overcoming what is in the gallery, just what you see, i worked hard for it, it doesn't mean i'm conformist, for that reason this was in +two years of process. Yes, is not the best, neither the most brilliant, it had details but i like it like that, as simple it looks, and I won't try to chase others in existence because that make them here a sucefully art. What I mean, is going safe to do what was a submitted amazing art, is playing safe, and is not my deal.
Is not ethical comparing works like this, this way, like "hey why you didn't do it like this, would be better don't you think?" Is honestly quite a bothersome. I apreciatte your iniciative with this kind of advices but this Just don't work me like this (= thanks, really thanks i know you care and you try, but this is what it is. n_nUUU
