Is it just me or there slight pixelation there? Or is that just the texture and my screen playing tricks on me? O.o
Took about 4 to 5 hours at most...i think...dunno exactly. Done using photoshop. Brushes and textures used can be found in deviant art...kinda lost the link and also I'm way too lazy to search for it. Scan is
Read as "My desolation / redemption / salvation, take it all away"
Was listening to Taylor Swift while doing this...yeah through the whole 4-5 hours or so. In fact I'm still listening to Taylor. So I'm not sure exactly wth the text have anything to do with the scan. This is that kind of wall that "photoshop itself".
Edit: Added revision 2, 3 & 4. Revision 2 with shadow on text. Revision 3 no shadow on text + less texture. Revision 4 with shadow + less texture.
Personally I like it with no shadow on the text XP

I like it----------though I'm not quite so sure of what seems to be missing from it. LOL. XD I like the overall concept and composition of the elements.

Hmmmmm.... it's good, it's good. Your typography is definitely improving, keeps on looking better each time! Only problem is that with its current positioning and colour schemes I would've read it as "Desolation / Redemption / Salvation / My take it all away" if you hadn't stated otherwise in the description. The concept is nice: crumpled paper with a cutout laid on top. Though, it seems inconsistent as the central character has a shadow yet the typography doesn't... so it looks a part of the background yet lacks the "crumpled" texture. Maybe I'm just over analyzing things... While a certain improvement over your older works technique wise... it lacks a certain appeal your older works had =/ . Still, good work overall!

Nice one but if the writing was bend on the texture more it would have gave a different feeling of perspective but generally great work, in reasonable time! ;)

Whoa ho, another crazy and creative piece from you!
First off, I really like how you gave us an idea as how to read it. I ran into a similar problem with reading it as well, being that I read the black text as is and red text together, but I do agree with the placement and layout. You've got a creative eye with typography and are by no means afraid to jump in and do something different. It's a big reason why I really like your work so much. The layout and positioning and angling really are spot on here and work nicely with the girl.
Probably my most favorite thing is how you chose to extract the scan. Giving it an outline was genius. It not only stick with the cutting theme created by the scan and thus gives the girl some distinction. I'm also a sucker for metaphors within works, and that's what I love so much about this. Be it intentional or not. I also really like the choice of texture that overlays her, to give it that more grainy feel that sort of adds to breaking away aspect.
The background is simplistic, but it works well and once again sticks with the theme. It's like the girl has been cut out, so the crumpled paper look really fits. Perhaps for consideration, maybe create an outline of the girl to make it look as if she cut herself out of the paper itself, sort of like breaking out of the mold. However, I cannot say how difficult something like that would of been to achieve.
I really like the sprouts used as well off of the text boxes. I'm curious, but did you try giving them the same crumbled look, like they were a part of the background paper?
Honestly, I like watching what you produce next. Each piece shows refinement and progression. You've definitely got a knack for creativity and a good eye for design as well. I'm not sure if I was taking deeper meaning from your work than what was meant to be created, but I love it either way! Considering this only took you five hours tops, I'm more than blown away.

The fist thing that I noticed here is how you place the wordings. I really like the idea. With the use of shapes and foliage design. They are pretty and creative.
Besides, I really like how you extracted the scan by leaving the white outline. It works well together withe the frame for the words. The use of texture for the character is good. I like your idea for this wallie.
Well, the crumbled paper for the bg is fine. However, for the character, I would like to see an abstract bg together with the foliage brush for the typography. =P
You've did a good work , mecha! Looking forward for your next wallie.

This is awesome! I love what you've done with it. I adore the background, the vector quality and choice, and the way the cut out words angle in on the character. Absolutely wonderful.

Easily one of the better wallpapers out there.
I enjoy the wrinkled paper design as a basis for the background and twisted the text to make it look almost like 3D. Very unique in it's own way.
