So, I've had this song stuck in my head for the past 2 weeks, so I decided to make a wall. Naturally. And also I needed more male characters in my gallery :/ Haven't touched Photoshop in a while, so this was a bit frustrating.
I wanted to try for a sharper feel, and this scan had a lot of lovely contours, so there was a minimum amount of blurring involved. However, my critic didn't really like the sharpness or the starkness, so I'll probably be uploading darker/softer versions later on in the week o3o. Expect a widescreen version as well!

And also : I must admit I am somewhat offended by some of the comments I've gotten about the authenticity/originality of this wall and it's concept (this is mostly directed towards AP). Yes, I am /well/ aware that this scan has been walled before, and by wallers I consider extremely talented and hold in the utmost regard. However, this wall was in no way shape or form meant to be a copy or a "remix" of those previous walls, nor was it meant to be an attempt at a "better" version. It's just supposed to be different. There are bound to be similarities since I used the same scan, that is unavoidable. As for the concept, as I described above, I picked this scan because it most matched the feel I was going for with the song I had in mind. Not anything incredibly thought out or anything, but I can assure you I wasn't attempting to steal from anyone. Sorry if it seems like I'm overreacting, and I don't mean to offend anyone in return.
*EDIT 2 : Uploading of alternate and widescreen versions are postponed indefinitely, since my Photoshop trial ended and I am currently unable to edit the wall.

I had the same deja-vu effect when i first saw it on MT. But when i look closely, the one from luches didnt have the extra petals or the tree branches lolz. And this one is much brighter, while luches's is smoother.

I don't question about the realisation but about the concept and idea, I generally prefer something more original... "lifeissimple" is a really good waller so I think she could create something better with a different idea. ^____^

Honestly, there are countless walls in the gallery walled from the same scan, I don't think by walling something already done before makes her any less of a waller, the two walls are in different styles :/ I don't even see the need of discussion or link back to luches's wall. In fact if you were to compare, lifeissimple's version varies more from the scan.
I'm just happy that there's at least a presentable wall in the AP frontpage as there has hardly been ANY in the recent while.

Still no alternate versions or widescreen? XD Anyway, since there are no constructive comments yet, I'll say that I prefer your approach to extend the falling petals and add an object of interest on the right side (the branch). I think there is a bit of a disconnect between the character and the branch though, and this is why I think it should also have some cherry buds/flowers on it as well, or even small piles of snow building on it to suggest he is bringing life to it. Needs a common element to bring the wall together, instead of just having the branch there to fill space - this is one of the reasons I believe the wall still looks so stark. Personal preference but I probably would have liked to see the wall a bit more saturated, but then there is also a snowy softness about it too. And my mt comment still stands that his mouth looks a bit like he's frowning lol. :P And I also did not notice at first that half his chest was showing too. XD Good to see you still walling, and looking forward to what you come up with next. :3

I LOVE how fluid the vecotring is, it adds a sort of abstract-feeling to the wallpaper. If I could suggest something it would be perhaps creating a soft transition from the hair to the background :3 I'm pretty jealous on how you were able to pull out a wallpaper while having exams ; A;
