Wow, finally finished my next vector. This time around it's Ririchiyo-sama from Inu X Boku SS. To be honest this vector took far longer than I expected but I blame it on all the other stuff that I have to do.
Anyways, after my previous vector I decided to study some alternative vectoring techniques and this is the result. This vector was made by drawing the lines first instead of simply tracing the outline then filling in the details like my previous vectors. Once the lines were completed I did three checkups to fix little bumps and other niggles and then moved on to the base coloring. I also did some subtle shading (not very complex, baby steps only) to give the characters more detail instead of a flat color. Finally I added shadows and here we are.
I worked from a screenshot using Adobe Illustrator. I included two versions (one with and one without the external shadow) to make it easier for people who do not want it.
As always, please let me know about errors so I can fix them.

Not much I could point out aside from the fact that it's awesome that your vectors are chibis. I could imagine some pretty lively and fun walls with them. I'm no professional so I cant say much about the technical stuff, but I like it nevertheless. Good one!

Thank you, I am glad you like it. :D
Still looking for another chibi for my next project (am open to suggestions :P) else I might go with a regular character. Now... if only someone would wall it. ;p

Cool. Really really awesome!
Would look cool in a 1920X1080 wallpaper. With the image placed in the lower left corner. (Plenty of space for desktop icons that way.)

It's refreshing to see something different such as chibis once in a while. However what the majority of chibis lack compared to a "regular" character would be detail. That being said, I can't comment much on the technical aspects of your work. What does stand out is the lineart which for the most part looks good. My only minor gripe is the connections between the strands of hair. They lack the fluidity present in the rest of your vector. The whole vector lacks a lot of shadows [which I guess is to be expected]. And... the shadow on her right leg does seem a tad strange. Other than that good work!
Any chance you could do this?

Thank you for your comments, I really appreciate it. :D
Yeah, I started with the hair so that might be why it is a bit off, to be honest most of my fixes went into that. Oh well, practice makes perfect. I have to admit that I am awful with shadows, which is why I currently mostly work with chibies, (less detail to get bogged down in.)
Oh my word, that pic is sooooo cute! Definitely adding it to my work queue don't expect it quickly though I work kinda slow. ;)

This = Lol
Ahhh, the moment I saw this I couldn’t help but remember my Softenni’s wallpaper that I did +1 year ago. Really, that wall was so much fun to work with.
Anyhow, this is really the type of vectors I like the most: simple, fun and chibified. Forget about overcomplicated-dramatic vectors full of shades and gradients, this is the way vectoring should always be, imo. Even though I like it, I still think this would’ve looked better if the overall colors were more vivid and outlines tad smoother (maybe even colored).
By the way, you should try to make a wall (or something) with it, you know, for the heck of it... Keep it up!

I'm glad you like it. :D I have to agree, the colors could be more vivid but for the moment I am trying to stick as close to the source image as possible. I fear I still lack a lot of the creativity needed to make good vectors which is why I'm taking it slow. (One chibi at a time!) I had actually seen some tutorials on coloring the outlines, but for some reason or another decided against it. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime and upload another revision. As for the smoothness of the outlines... gave me a lot of trouble but already getting better. Hopefully in my next vector it will have improved a lot.
:D Would love to make a wallie, but doubt if my creative skills extend that far. Might use it for a MALU skin or something thought.
Thank you very much for your comment, I really appreciate it! :D
