And another vector completed, this time it is the beautiful Yui-chan from Kokoro Connect. Basically this vector relies on the skills I learned during the making of my previous vectors with a few twists thrown in, it still relies on the line-art technique. I've also tried to enhance the shading a bit more, but shadowing still isn't really my thing. The decision to go with colored outline actually came rather late in the process and suffered a bit as a consequence, ultimately however I think the colored version ended up a lot better than the one that simply had a black outlined and as such that is the one I decided to upload.
As usual I worked from a screenshot (yes, I love those) using Illustrator 6.

Oh another one from you! And not a chibi? I'm a bit disappointed :D But the lines (and colored ones at that) look amazing, way better than previous ones. My only gripe would be the colors. They could be a bit more vivid, but that's about it. Also, the mouth feels a little too simple, but generally, nice work, you'll get there soon if you ask me.

Sorry to dissapoint :P When I started this vector I didn't really have a chibi that I liked and after some consideration I decided that I like Yui best for my next attempt. Thank you very much! It seems that I might finally be getting to grips with how to do the lineart, now I need to move on to other things like minor modifications and the like. I agree fully about the colors, I actually saw the vector on another computer today and was shocked how washed out they were, I suspect the problem lies with my screen as they look a lot better on it. (Time for an upgrade I guess) Once again, thank you very much for the comment, I really appreciate it. :D

Oh... she looks so innocent; as always you make it look so simple and clean; i too feel that the mouth is bit simple as like GlassDemon said; but still i like it actually by looking how you trying your hands on colored outlines makes me try something like that as well (starting with clean simple colored line-art).

Thank you! :D Yeah, I guess I could have done better. This time around (if the image allow) I'll try my hand at some "modification" to see if I can enhance it. I'm glad you like the colored outlines, to be honest they had me a bit worried, but when I compared them against the straight-black they are quite a bit nicer. For my next vector though, I'll consider the colored outlines right from the start as this should make them even better.

It's not a chibi... well that's quite surprising. What I can say about this vector is it's overly simplistic, but this usually the result when using a screenshot as your source. The coloured lineart is very much a welcome addition to your vector and does increase its overall appeal by a lot. While the majority of the lineart looks good, I have this nagging curiosity as to why a lot of the lines end off rounded. Just seems a tad odd in my opinion. Her mouth... sorry to say but two straight lines cannot be considered a mouth. Even if your source isn't clear, it's always good to change it up a bit and try to improve over the original. As @GlassDemon has already stated before, the colours look very much washed as my first impression of this vector was: "Oh my... she's quite pale." You stated in your description that you tried to improve on the shading, my advice is to try using scans as your source rather than screenshots since they are much more detailed and contain a lot more shadows. After a few of those you can probably get a grasp of shadows and start implementing them on your own. All in all, good work and I eagerly await your future works.

Yup... Time for a change? :P
Why the lines end rounded? Mmmm... guess it's a bad habit I picked up. Sharp pointy line ends upset me for some reason, it look... unfinished. o_O Probably just me though, will try and tone it down in my current work.
Yeah, I guess it is time to step out of the "kiddies pool" and start to improve images on my own. Will definitely take your advice and work from scans until I get a better grasp of shadows. (After my current work though)
Ah ha haa... yeah, my reaction was kinda the same when I saw the image on a different screen, definitely time for an upgrade! Suggestions regarding what I should look for are welcome ;)
Thank you, I really appreciate the support and the comments! :D

Sorry to disappoint. ;P This was my first non-chibi vector so it was a bit rough, but hopefully my new vector is better.
