My entry for Match 16: Artist Tribute. It' s inspired by the Tree of Life by Gustav Klimt. As always I did sketches (clothes - tree) that helped me on vectoring. There was a third sketch, the tree was more detailed there, but with a deadline I knew I couldn't be able to add those details :/
Except for linearts, on the whole wall I applied a pattern and the 'accented strokes' filter, for give to it a more painted style. Hope you'll like it :)

Very cool, reminds me of elfen lied OP which I assume was inspired by the same style! (Not sure really) I love the colors and the creativity on the characters! It looks really good!

Thanks Bantam ^.^ about Elfen Lied, I saw its gallery, and there are a pair of illustrations that are clearly inspired by Klimt artworks. It seems that the staff who worked on this anime wanted to do a tribute to this great artist :)

This is absolutely amazing. I think you incorporated the theme very well and the characters as well too. The colors are PURE LOVE. <3 The subtle textures are very lovely as well. You did a neat job on this one. Nothing more, nothing less. :D

if you mean the clothes details (birds, fish, circles, etc.), I drawn them by myself, taking inspiration from those that there are onto the Klimt masterpiece. See it closer ;)

It's really nice, but it really reminds me of Elfen Lied. I don't think that's a good thing though. I especially like the little mushroom like things on the tree.

well... I really LOVED this wallpaper... It's absurdly beautiful, the idea of associating the original scan to a great work of art, and still making them match so perfectly is really commendable, especially the edition of the faces, through which you gave a really professional touch to them, which gives the idea that the faces were caught just as they are in the wallpaper, but actually not, which shows your ability to turn a simple edition (the scan) into a job with lines and colors very similars to the arts published by publishers manga. The way you recreated the details of the clothes, using the original drawings, but adapting them to the new characters in the image made them absolutely beautiful, mainly due to the effects applied on the clothes, which gave them a very nice finishing touch. The tree remains equal to the art of the characters, being beautiful and well detailed without losing the function of background, and while balancing perfectly with the whole image ... I imagine the details you'd add, if the deadline was not short, would let the wallpaper even more complete, but as it stands, this is still one of the most beautiful and well done wallpapers than I've ever seen in my life. Congratulations! You are an amazing artist!
