Been awhile since i put anything up here but uhh here's one of many walls i started who knows how long ago and just never got around to finish (i actually got a few more ill be submitting here soon). probably one of the longest vectors ive ever done. actually its the longest (on Yoko alone it took hours upon hours) though the vector i did is a little different from the original, at least in terms of colors and other subtle changes. I used a f*** ton of red on this wall which made me nervous, and it probably screwed me in the end, but oh well, sad thing is i cant really use other colors for this particular wall they just wouldn't fit at all with what i was going for, or the character. Anyway i didn't really do anything fancy with this wall just simple vectoring with some gradients. I might actually come back to this one later on though and change a bunch of things on it... But uhh hope someone enjoys it ignoring the bad decision to use a bunch of red of course.. oh yeah credit to whoever made the original.
(If anyone wants the Yoko vector let me know and ill put up here for you to use however you'd like...)

First off, it's great to see you back in the walling game once again! I hope we'll see more work from you once again as well.
Secondly, I actually like the use of red in this. It is very true that, generally speaking, red is pretty tough on the eyes when there's a large quantity of it. However my biggest problem is the jarring difference between the sketched look of Yoko and the vector look of the background. I'll get into what I really like first and then break down the latter.
So first off, I really like Yoko. That sketched look is absolutely fantastic. I'm not sure what you based it upon or if it's a scan, but it's absolutely gorgeous. The masculinity of the scene still bears the strong femininity of Yoko is portrayed beautifully. I really get so much emotion from this and I can't help but to feel that it really captures that feeling that TTGL had. It's also rather apparent that you put a lot of work into it as well. I also really like certain aspects of your background as well. Those textures and details are very nicely done and the hard lines work fairly well.
Sadly, the sketchy style of Yoko and the solid vector shaped background do not fit together. At all. They completely clash against each other, If you plan on going with a style, I would recommend creating a merger between the background and image, like with Nat's work. While there is definitely blending techniques, these two are so drastically (in my opinion) that it really offsets the piece itself.
Overall, I like the concepts and ideas going on there, but the piece itself needs that extra bit of refinement. Your hard work is very evident, and I praise you for taking a lot of risks. Best of luck to you in the future!

yep you pretty much got me there, i could not for the life of me get the sketchy Yoko to fit in with the background.. but that's just an excuse i got lazy and lost my creative juices as i usually do halfway through a wall.. if i somehow get motivated again i definitely come back to this one and get that sketchy look everywhere or at least make it fit.

Yoko looks amazing. The red used on her is wonderful and that is all I really want to stare at. But then there is that left side where it kind of takes away from it. I still like the wall overall though.

I love this wall, great style and coloring, I guess the only thing I can think of to say would be possibly on her chin, it seems to be a big block of shadow that maybe seems out of place (or shape) hard to explain, but still great wall. The issue with that shadow is more noticeable in the thumb (above) than the full wallpaper.

i know what your what talking about, only reason i left that in there is because of the original, I probably should have taken it out though..

Absolutely stunning. That single tear on her cheek, that Kamina reflection in the bg... Beautiful, goes straight to my desktop. And fav, obviously

Badass looking wallpaper! :P Yoko looks pretty cool here. It does bother me a bit, the smooth shading/gradient on one part and the graduated, banded/whatever you call it shading in the bottom left. Still, overall wallpaper looks pretty dang good.
