Sorry for all the confusion. Someone told me the pen still had base colours so I had to redo everything!

It's been awhile since I last submitted anything. I was currently working on a different wallpaper, when I saw some hologram videos of iPhone in Youtube. While that was fresh in my mind, I saw a pic made by the artist An2a, on his/her concept of Siri. So I thought, why not make a wallpaper based on Siri combined with the notion of holograms. So I set out my usual "picking" of pics until I was satisfied with the collage. Everything was made by vector mask painting (Nysha's techniques). I wanted the wall to look like an advertisement that Apple, Inc. would make. I even used their usual "Myriad Apple" font for good measure. I also want to portray Siri in a manner that in a more sultry manner. I've read a lot of people who are attracted to her voice, so I wanted her to look like the secretary / personal assistant, we will NEVER EVER have. In here, she's portrayed popping out of the iPhone with PP app in right hand and a pen at the left. The hexagon panels coming from the iPhone connected to her buttocks and waist are like polygons forming. There are 8 revisions here, with two groups... the monochromatic and the full color ones. The rest of the revisions are either the typography or the text that comes with it. I'd like to share more details here but I think the process panels will say the whole story. Thanks to Bantam for his opinions, and also to Brosteb, who despite being wasted with booze, managed to share his insights for the fruition of this wall, from the use of monochrome to the background concepts. I owe this guy lots of beer already. Enjoy guys, if you know what I mean...

Anyway, back to your wall----definitely another masterpiece. The concept and how it was put together is truly ingenious. I'm personally LOVING the monochrome one with the typography behind her over all the other revisions (I'd like to have more revision though with the typography version). I never really got the hang of VMP. D: So great job to you for that one. Why I chose the monochrome with the typography because it actually stands out and emphasizes Siri more than the other revisions. The hexagonal shapes add that Matrix feel to it. Combination of two different scans and making the lineart is seamless. I'm actually at a loss for words to describe your latest masterpiece. Haha. YOU ARE GOOD JOB. v( °w° )v

Thanks Horse. It's been a while. As always, I want to push my current knowledge of PS to the next level. That's why I bought... A tablet. CD-R king. It's cheap but it's good. And only 1000 pesos! HEHEHE

The the mashing up of the scans was a really good idea and it works so well! Though for some reason I can't help but think she has two left legs...? I dunno if its just me though :D

I love how shiny she looks though and the composition of the wallpaper is amazing too, I love how there is a somewhat clearly different look in how the laptop & phone are vectored differently from to make her look like a hologram.

At first I thought it was some Medaka wall lol.

It's awesome how you have so many versions to choose from. I can't even make 1 background to save my life. The concept fits together perfectly. You can connect Siri to the phone and how she is standing by awaiting commands. I admire people who can Frankenstein several scans or drawings together and make it look smooth. Little details like the hexagon shapes make her feel more like an AI instead of some chick coming out of a portal. I'm not 100% sure what's going on the side of her hip. At first I thought it was a piece of her missing that's still constructing but I can also see it as cloth that's folded on the end. Kind of interesting to see it both ways. How silly of you to put 69% haha.

Main thing that's really bothering me is the "quality" of the wall. It looks like it was saved in gif format instead of jpeg or png. This puts dither(noise-pattern) on all the gradients and some discoloration.

Seriously Pao, ever since you first came onto the scene I've always been surprised by your work. You are a man who isn't afraid to take risks, and has not only a creative but ambitious mind. It's hard to believe how quickly you've been able to progress artistically despite being in a career field that is more than demanding of you time. As Tens stated, it's rather incredible how you can blend everything together so seamlessly. Especially since it's an exact science that, if even off by a little bit, can ruin the whole piece. Well, let's just say that I thought this was a complete image, until I remembered I had the previous source image of Siri by An2a on my HDD and realized that no, no it wasn't. You magnificent bastard.

So first off, yet again you bring us a uniquely creative and challenging piece that really puts your skills to work. The combination of two different scans, as previously stated, is by no means a small feat for anyone to take on. You, however, pulled it off with incredible ease and Siri looks absolutely stunning. I do agree, minus the decor on the shoes (no offense to your logo, I just think it clashes with the rest of her image) I do believe you managed to perfectly give off the impression that I expected her to have full body for a sultry secretary. I have to also say you did a fantastic job vector painting(?) her too, she's got a really nice look to her and it really makes her stand out in an elegant way on the background. I especially love the hexagonal patterns of her emerging from the Iphone. With that in mind...

There are a few things that I did notice when it came to the background itself. I like the way she's coming out of the phone, but for some reason the look itself just seems slightly off to me. Like it's part of two separate components as oppose to coming out of the phone itself. Now if you were to ask me to show you what I mean, I wouldn't be able to because A. You already did it much better than I ever could and B. I don't think there is a proper way. It's being overly nit picky, but perhaps something that made it look like the screen itself was producing ripples, sort of like she was coming out of the screen itself. Also, the home button or whatever it's called that's on the iPad/iPhone/iTouch, for some reason that seems to look like it's more of an outward button as oppose to something that's more indented.

However, the rest of the iPhone itself is gorgeous. How you managed to created that text on the inside of the phone, give it that right look of pixelation to make it look completely natural and fitting is absolutely outstanding. There's a few little things that slightly stand out, mainly the curving of the phone, but honestly this is truly a strong, strong piece of work you've got here. On a note of which version I like, Number 5 stole my heart. I don't like making mention of these things normally, but I found that this is the first desktop background I've put on my computer that's anime related in several years. This piece is that creative, and that good.

So seriously Pao, do you ever sleep? To be able to come up with such creative ideas and execute them so flawlessly, one must have a decent amount of time on their hands. I can't imagine, with your fantastic wife and your busy job, you would have such time to create such a strong piece. It's truly inspiring if I do say so myself. This is also my most favorite piece from you, Pao. Great work, and have a wonderful new year!

Yeah. I might have overdone the use of my sig. Force of habit, I guess. But it's the only way I can say that's my work. I'll think of other ways to use it without destroying the wall.

Thanks for your detailed analysis on the wall. It wasn't an easy feat though, mashing them up. Half of the time making this wall was looking for the right pose from a different source so that I can use it. Even then the original source had to be modified to suit my liking.

On a side note, I was at the South Side of the Grand Canyon a couple of months ago, Brosteb told me to give you a call. Never did 'coz I was just staying there for a couple of hours. Imagine on the same day, I was at Las Vegas drove to Arizona then drove all the way to San Diego, CA. I'm NOT gonna do that again. HAHAHA

What can i say? i love the concept, more importantly how you made it turn out. The hexagons sure do make an impression on the over all wall on the tie and specially over the screen with the ripple effect. Art is finely done and the vector masking, also the typography is nice..thou i prefer version 1,7 and 8 most. And thanks for choosing her as siri, if you know what i mean XD

I'd only like to point a thing that felt a little off. Her hair beneath her left arm.. idk if it was intended, i just felt that there should be a little shade of purple and not fully bluish green.

Nice wallpaper. I'm actually using the first revision, the color suits more my tastes. All other iterations are beautiful. Nice idea on a "sexy Siri" with only 69% battery life XD

I wish you made a wall size for 1366, a shame I have to resize from the 1440 but it works well enough. Not too much cutoff.

Wow, just Amazing!! Pao my friend, you have done it again!! This wall is just beautiful, especially considering the fact that she wasn't a whole character when you started. You've done an amazing job of merging the various scans to create the whole version of Siri, and she looks fabulously amazing!! My only gripe about her is that the cloning on the leg makes it look as though she has two left feet. A little adjustment of her shoe would fix this. Otherwise it's a gorgeous wallpaper that I immediately downloaded and is currently gracing my laptop =3

You inspire me to push myself further, when I see your amazing work. So congrats on once more submitting a beautiful wall, especially when those of us who know you know just how busy you really are, yet you still manage it. A definite +Fav from me my friend =3

Thanks for the comment on the wall. Well, I think I the reason it looked good is that I was enjoying walling this the whole time. I think for all of us who are in AP, love anime one way or another, and that love for the genre can be channeled to other things as well, like walling or making a book. HEHEHE

Regarding the "cloning of the foot", no actual copy and pasting was done. Both were vectored separately. I think you should look at the foot of the basis picture from Nardack, as well as consider the new position of the legs. I think it's more of an optical illusion or something. Well, I'll look into it still.

Porsche love How have you been love?... Absolutely stunning Walling! How you find the time, I'll never know? Now I'm gonna have to get the iPhone 10.. Just twist my arm!

But seriously back on topic... This is one of those truly exquisite walls that will be treasured forever. I don't think that even a SSS will suffice. not only did you seamlessly combine two totally different images of two totally different girls but if it were not for your admittance and process proof we would have never believed it. I am amazed at the total dedication you put into each wall. Lord knows I would go mad... mad I tell you!

And for those of you who have recently appeared on AP... this is how you do a real wall if you have not learned for @isshi here is another perfect example of finishing. I may not be the greatest at walling BGs either... but finding away around a problem like only half a body is something wallers and vectorists need to take into account more often. It's one thing when there is a lack of reference materials... but when ** @PaoPorsche ** can find reference material on the net when there are only 5 scans in the artist's gallery... are we really calling ourselves good. I'd have to say this should put many of us to shame, and no I'm not going to include myself in that last comment..... And those of you reading should already know those to whom this comment was directed at....

And for a wall and a vector of this caliber there are some rather spectacular commendations in order. For outstanding imagination, excellence in problem solving skills, control and use of color, homage to B&W.... A love of Apple & Siri, dedication above and beyond the call of duty, typography skills beyond measure, and EXTREME Attention to detail....I shall award thee a new badge of which now I will have to make...

Hey Major.

We have a term here in the Philippines "nakakataba ng puso" (literally means fattening the heart). I think your comment is very welcoming and heartwarming, especially for us wallers who usually either get a one sentence comment or if we do get a long comment, it's more on criticism.

Weeeellll, this wall is far from perfect. Nysha already pointed out some things which I can improve on. You also noted the flaw in the ribbon. But that's the good thing about here in AP, people here, ehem, most of them, are willing to help others improve their work. That's why I want to make more walls for this community. It deserves to grow from all of us anime enthusiasts.

Wah a new wall from you! 8D So flattered you're keeping the VMP tradition alive too. Love the scan you chose - and as always an unexpected yet refreshing wall concept you made from it! Personally I feel I'm enjoying the full color version, but I'm not sure why her top shoe bow is not colored in those versions. And also in the monochrome ones, there is some blue glow left over on her lower leg that might not have been intended. However I feel a duotone version with just purple and teal (no skin color) might be a great version to try too. It would include the teal glow on her lower hair and scarf as well. I also think the blue glow around her rear should have a greater lighting effect - you have a little bit of blue reflecting on her lower leg and heel, but I feel much more could be placed on her, like on her raised leg as well for example. Speaking of the raised leg, I feel it is raised too much - the cropped tip of her toes feels uncomfortable to me compositionally, so I feel it should be lowered to fit the whole foot inside the wall. Another detail I noticed is the layer of gray hair in the back has rather jagged outlines for some reason. The rest of the layers look fine though. And finally your PP icon her finger is holding up does feel out of place with the whole theme of the wall - the logos on her shoes are fine, but this one just seems to be randomly floating there. I feel a floating apple icon there would suit the wall much better. :) So overall great to see another wall from you, but it just needs a bit more polish to make it perfect. :D

Well, I think the VMP is a very good tool to wall with and have found it useful in other works as well. Thanks for pointing out the mistakes in this wall. I understand your point about the tip of the shoe, the teal colour, and the app icon. I'll make new revisions for those. I feel like the student being lectured by the master of his mistakes... HEHEHE (scratches back of head)

I'd like to give you a million thanks for taking me up as your VMP student not so long ago. I want to teach others too with this technique, so I try to be as detailed with process pic as possible. Well, I'm still learning and now that I have recently acquired a tablet, I'm learning more. I hope to get more from you in the future and that you won't tire teaching me.

I admit, I don't really think this wall special at first (apart of nice character vectoring & coloring you did there :3). But after seeing the steps you've done, ok it's so damn excellent xD

for the comments, I think her left leg (near the joint) is a bit off :3. Also it might be cool if u add more character reflection on the iphone thingies (except if she is working like AR not real hologram).

Even though i don't like the iPhone on certain principles i have to admit that this is a great wall. The color scheme and the work it took you to get to this was all amazingly done. I guess you can't really do sexy with an android blob monster... Sigh...

Guess that's what iPhone needs, a Siri and a girl to make the perfect market. Just kiddin'. I actually like it more than the previous revisions. The violet theme is a nice touch. It fits her expression so much.

This picture was a wide eye opener, by both the thumbnail and title. Practically fell out of my chair from the sheer beauty of the picture (and lol iPhone 10, coming in 2024). You, sir, have mastered anthropomorphism. Loved the idea of a hologram being displayed right on top of the screen...

Hi, I more or less random visited on dropped on this. Well I don't like IPhones at all, but the concept of the wallpaper is very interesting. I latest revision, which is cool and has its own style. But I also like the fact that there are more colors in the former revisions. I like the effects of the girl popping out from the device. I think you did great, it's a really nice wall ^^. Keep doing stuff like this :).
