"...and I'll be there."
Selamat pagi AP,
This wallie has 99 problems, and vectors ain't one of them. Thats right I managed without one, pats on the shoulder are in order. So this picture has been sitting around on my HDD for months (if not years) and sometime ago I stumbled on it here on AP as well. This made me immensely happy because I thought this was some fanart/pixiv stuff a.k.a. no-no for submission. So here I am with my first extension wallpaper. I know it is by no means perfect, keen eyes may notice some gimmicks, but overall I find it acceptable. Advices and tomato-throwing are welcome.
Tool used: Adobe Photoshop CS6(!)
Yeah quite a jump from CS2.
Enjoy good people!

Pretty decent extension I would say, considering you didn't add any vector parts like you said. Some parts do look a bit strange but it takes a closer look to actually see those parts. Overall it's an appealing wall, good work.

Much better workflow enhancements with CS5/6 compared to CS2.

Photoshop and extensions aren't really my thing but I'll see what I can come up with to say. At a glance I'd consider it's a flawless extension. Even after carefully scrutinizing the wallpaper, I might have found a things that may be considered as gimmicks (again, I'm no good at this...). So because of my lack knowledge in this area, I'll settle with a good work! If I were to talk about the wallpaper's aesthetic factor [instead of technical aspects], I'd say it's a very appealing piece!

Whoa, it's something new from GlassDemon!
So first off, major kudos to you for taking the leap into the extension category. It's by no means an easy thing to accomplish and to do it properly is even more challenging. The fact that you worked with such a difficult piece shows that you've got a great deal of ambition. Yet, after all is said and done, I can't help but to feel this is your weakest piece submitted. Or at least it feels like a step backwards in terms of quality control.
Once again great job with the extension. Since you used CS 6, I'm really surprised to find out that you didn't use content aware. When CS6 first came out, it was all the craze and by far the greatest introduction to the Photoshop library. Definitely the strongest addition, it really is absolutely perfect for pieces like extensions or for touch up work to damaged photos and such. I like the fact that you stuck with the scene itself, and although this is probably the most widely used scan from Dhiea, it is rather nice to see it in this format.
Now, for the bad. I'm going to be brutally honest here too because of how much I respect you, and I don't want you to take this personal either. I find you to be quite the talented individual and I want you to keep moving forward! I honestly wish you had given more time to refining the piece. Whenever I see something like "I know it is by no means perfect, keen eyes may notice some gimmicks, but overall I find it acceptable." In my mind I read it as "I was too lazy to finish, or to refine the piece, so I'm just going to submit it." As someone who I've seen on this community as constantly trying to push forward and vastly improve their work, I can't help but to find that this piece is just lazy in that aspect. Adding in the fact that it's really disjointed (the hands are coming out of the ground, I get, but you've got hands that appear nearly an arm's length coming out of mid air where as the scan made it almost look like a fish-eye view of the background) when you look at the piece, I can't help but to wish more time was put into refining how the content looked. Added in with how some of the crosses look squiggly and I can't help but to feel that the piece itself was greatly rushed and refinement wasn't given.
Overall, it's a strong effort for a new method. I'm glad to see you branching out and trying new techniques, but don't hesitate to ask for advice or suggestions. Submitting something isn't a contest, so be sure to take your time until you are happy with it and feel it's a great piece. Rushing a piece or not giving time to refine it will end up showing, and sadly it really does with this wallpaper. Good luck to you in the future, Sir Glass-chan!

Man, either he was inspired by kouhai's work or he's just as fired up as always...

I really love this wall!
The blue evoke a strong burst of emotions within me, and background is really nicely done. I'm not too sure how to describe it, but I kinda like the fuzzy look of it. Awesome!

love the tone and atmosphere in this ~this is probably one of those cases where the scan is clean enough that vetoring isn't needed. O: I would really like to see what the original was like, do you have a link to that? and also - this..is..definitely wishful thinking on my side - but I have a feeling this'd look amazing if you extend..her surrounding area...to..like..10x the vastness than it is right now ;u; I just think it would look pretty epic lol.

Glass - Congratulations on making an effort for another wall, doing your first extension and sharing it ! I'd like to clear something first, my critique/comment won't be much directed towards to as how the wall looks as a Wall, but what it's comparatively to the picture itself. And for the ones who couldn't find the link to source material first (now it's updated in description), Here's the scan/picture
Now since that's outta the way, i'll begin with things that felt not so good also i'd like you to not think of this as tomato-throwing as this is not meant to discourage or demotivate you rather it's about to give you an honest opinion:
Alright, now for the most important aspect/thing - You skipped/missed on the Beautiful dark Moon and dark night star skies which were clearly a part that enhanced the picture for the Lonely in graveyard sighting at the moon for Hope atmostphere feel
It's perfectly alright for you to not vector it, and since it isn't vectored there's no full control over the picture..but to duplicate the extreme ends with minor tweaks and have them connected with the wall? And since you've decieded to take away lenght and accepted to deal with width, that tallest cross on the extreme right n left in the picture would be welcome to fill some space.
I won't go into details's of those hands coming of ground or nowhere, since you were already mentioned on that note. I'd just like to say some part's lack orignality as the orignal was like the the Hand at extreme left intersects with the cross lacking hollowness and the Dark fog at the hand on the extreme right which is a tad too dark. Also the cross on the second hand to the left AKA the part of your extension seems disproportionate. But they look finely good independently when not in comparision and not looked into too keenly, so im not going to say much.
Now for parts appreciated you did or took a step for:
Most importantly - you made a wall outta it to fit our screens! Dakara, Arigato..Hontoni Arigato :D
Taking a start in extension and coming out clean - for the most part.
Some crosses like the one on the extreme left of the source which had a small cross like very small and you extended it, are extended very nicely.
That aside, the wall as a whole is certainly appealing, backed my your strong efforts. I like that you're taking steps to move forward and not hesistating to share it. Improvements are bound to come when you're constantly struggling for the better :) dakara gambatte ne Glass-dono~ hoping to see more from you soon! n_n

I really like this. The extension need a bit of refinement but I like how it looks. I like that the cropping exclude the moon. It allows for the composition to draws more focus to the girl and the surrounding of the crosses and reaching hands. It gives a more grounded feel as opposed to if the moon part is taken.
p/s: you know malay? O.o

Selamat Pagi juga nice extension, and i love the atmosphere, my suggestion is you could make another version with the moon inside it, will make the wall more stronger. (just my opinion). anyway Great Job and Thanks for sharing

YES.
They've said it all, I will not make a fuss to repeat them anymore, except for these: Keep the great works up, and having a DL and +1 of this!

It's a nice wallpaper, i love the blue atmosphere~ although like kuchicu said, the lack of the moon and the starry skies made it look like something is missing. But overall, i like the wallpaper. Keep up the good work~ =)

You haven't lost your amazing way of making much progress in a short time (you make me jealous bro!). The wall is very good, especially since it's your first extension. keep it up :D

It is for sure a special wallpaper ... sadly I do favor the original. The moon has quite some touch. But it has not the right resolutions to put it perfectly on the desktop. So having this one is really a relief!

Great extension, but other than a slight change in color, and the fact that you cut out the top part of the sky (which, for some odd reason, bothers me), it's a pretty decent rework of a previous post.
