Candidate For Goddess 88

So this is a pretty simple wallpaper, I'll admit... but I really like the idea and the turn out. Originally I was going to make it a collage of Zero inside the 8s. I thought about mixing manga and anime, went for just anime, then realized it'd look a bit... silly if it was JUST Zero. Then I considered having like a lot of different characters. Well while I was working on that, the 3 images of the guys and their partners turned up and I figured it'd be a great idea to feature four sets of partners (minus one due to lack of images and space). The resizing and cutting out of the images took about 2 hours alone. I considered doing drop shadows... but it didn't look good. There was already too much black/darkness behind them anyway.

Outside the 8s I had considered making it all black... but after testing it, I realized just a darkening compared to inside would be a much better idea and objective.

I did some softening to help some of the jagged edges due to cropping characters out and separating the couples by distance (those big squares really take up more room than you'd originally think... haha). Lastly I just did some color adjusting to make the inside brighter and clarified.

On a personal note, my favorite number is 88 which was taken from Zero who's military ID number is 88. I've been using that number for about 11 years now... So figured this would be a fun wallpaper to do/attempt.

I semi cheated on the background (the stars and stuff) by using an older wallpaper I made years ago. I experimented with making space-type wallpapers a few years ago and had a few of them still saved to my computer. After comparing my two favorites, I went with the one you see in this wallpaper. It was a time saver (but still mine, for the record haha).

Lastly, I did consider and try changing the color of the 88... but seriously, everything else (different colors, patterns, gradients, etc.) just didn't look good... So yeah, the 88 doesn't stand out probably as much as it should, but in a way it makes it fun to find it >.<;;

Either way, simple but I figured a nice representation of the main four pairs for a series that's major old and major forgotten <3
