You know that feel when you started getting inspired to do this and that? And then you thought “heck yeah this be mah greatest masterpiece evah!” But then when you started working on it it’s like where be mah inspiration gone? (ಠ_ಠ) This is what happened here. So basically all I’m saying is move along kids! There’s nothing to see here!
Through the whole process I spent a hell lot of time staring at unfinished wallpaper. I had already done the extraction like a month ago which took me only an hour or two. I had a lot of ideas but when I had Photoshop open, it’s like wait what did I wanted to do again. It’s incredibly frustrating. Hopefully, I can force myself out of this funk. Ok maybe not force myself because forcing oneself, despite what people/society in general might tell you, is not the best way to go about something or anything at all.
I started with wanting to use all of the girls together, cut out and stitches concept and the decided to change it and go super crazy typo and have the 2013 hidden in some obscure place but then I decided to go with something else which I don’t really remember and keep changing and changing and the I went back again with my initial concept until I realized that I have a freaking idea train track that keep going in circle that went nowhere at all. So that was when I decided to screw the damn concept and wing it. But that wasn’t a good idea either since, as I said before, I ended up staring at a not finished wall for a hell lot of time.
And then I figured that it’s best to give up and just submit this thing. I won’t accomplish anything if I keep spinning in circle around something that just won’t work and it's ok to let go (not an easy thing for me to do since I have a stubborn streak). So this is definitely not my best. Despite this I’m entering it in the contest anyway. Maybe I can come up with something better. Or maybe I should just let it go.

Hey Mechanenko!
I really don't have much idea of what to make of that scan in the way you were trying to incorporate, so i'll share my opinion on this. First, the white thick borders of the characters don't quite seem to blend in with the bg. If the gap of the characters skin and borders could be minimised or closed it can make a visual impact as it'll help the blending feel with the bg. Plus since it's all girls, a room (preferably living room) would work well as a bg, you'll have to find a scan for it thou but it shouldn't be too troublesome (you can find a SOS brigade room scan in Haruhi section but it's wayy too clean and sharp to work with your scan). Also, since the scan isn't pretty detailed or clean and have a smudgy look, a clean and sharp background won't likely cut it either as you can see here your bg is fairly more clean than the characters.
Well i hope this gives to a fair idea if you're willing to spend some time with this scan some more. Keep the Giving up as your last resort and Goodluck !

A new mecha wallie! yosh~
I love to see the simple ideas used in all your wallies. They are straightforward and well, good to look at XD Anyway, for this wall, I love the pink background and the dotted patterns and floral designed bg. They are adorable. Plus, the placement of the characters and bg elements, they are good. I am happy to see the improvement of your walling.
However, in my opinion, prolly the opacity of the texture can be minimized as the texture are obvious. Besides, you can use more brushes to play with patterns and floral elements (different flowery brushes I mean XP ) The white border around the character can be minimized though, a part from making the characters' colour blend in more with the bg.
Nevertheless, you've done a good job and I just love the simplicity of it, Keep it up and looking forward to see your next one, mecha dear ^^

Another mecha wall (yaaayyy!)! First impression from the front page: "This looks nice, seems like something mecha would do... oh wait." You just got to love the feeling that your next work is going to be a masterpiece only to have it fall flat on its face when you actually start it (happens to me a lot). Well, your next work will be a masterpiece... right?
Anyway, back on topic. The concept for your wall carries much resemblance to some of your past works, whether this is good or bad is debatable. But, I like it. The highlight of your wallpaper would be that you kept it simple, nothing fancy or risky. The background design looks great with your usual formula of textures and brushes. The white borders around the characters are a nice touch but they feel lacking when compared to one of you last works which utilised the same concept. I don't get as much of that "Oompf" feel. Of course, I don't expect you to directly import the same style since the background here is much softer in comparison. My other complaint would be the difference in sharpness between the characters and the background. At the highest resolution, the scan feels too blurred when compared to the sharper background. At lower resolutions, the difference doesn't stand out as much but is still noticeable.
We all have have that endless idea train track thought process once in a while but I'm glad you managed to finish it regardless (I would've just given up >.< ). So, good job as usual and I hope you get some definite inspirations soon!

Nice composition. I like the... medical scrubs?... that the girls are wearing, and their poses and expressions. Nice job on the background too, simple but does the job nicely.
