cool wall! i haven't been able to find many good samurai champloo wallpapers, but this one is defintely one of the best. i like how the background and color really fits mugen and the anime in general.

The v-sign originates from the 100 years war when us brits and the frenchies were regularly having a pop at each other. During these campaign the unparalleled skill, accuracy, range and rate of fire of the English longbowman compared to the French crossbow caused the French no end of problems and lead to the French threatening to chop the two first two fingers (which are used to draw back the string) of captured Bowman.

Whether they ever really did chop off any fingers or not is unclear but it lead to the English bowman sticking up the two fingers every time they'd felled one of the french knights as a gesture of defiance and shouting f*** off. This is believed to have happened for the first time at Agincourt and it used to be called the "agincort sign" but the flicked v sign has now essentlially come to mean f-off in this country.

None of which has any bearing on the wall, which is great, but I saw the comment on your site about it being offensive to the brits :D.

Mugen is a true anime bad-boy and this wallpaper captures that perfectly. I love the anachronic nature of the series, which is blended perfectly with the scan of mugen and choice of background/texture. A really nice piece, looks like a lot of hard work went into turning this piece from a thought to a reality. Keep up the great work ^_^

This is an amazing wallpaper. It looks just like the styling on the "official" wallpapers, but it is better quality and layout. The coloring is great and very easy on the eyes. Good job!

I love Mugen, and this was one of my favorite scans of him. I like how all of the colors go together very well, but I think that instead of kanji, you should have used New York subway style grafitti for this one.

The wallpaper is just so unique. The brownish pattern you made for most background reminds me of traditional pattern in my country's tribe, Javanese. It's called batik. It has similar curves with one in Japanese. This surely is a fave!

Awsome!!! This picture depicts very well the punky nature of Mugen from Samurai Champloo, though i dont know what his hand gesture supposed to mean. The background looks distinctively japanese and the color is just right, not too bright. not too faded. The upper left corner look a bit empty though, so it make the whole picture look kinda off-balanced. Otherwise, very well done.

Ok, wallpaper. It's lovely, I've always beena fan of the cover art(and style in general) or Champloo. The only issue I had was the fact that I couldn't tell if it was simply the cover art, or that and more; which, in fact, may indeed be a very positive thing. Though somehow, I feel like I don't appriciate the paper as much as I could.

Great work! I have been looking for this particular scan in a wall (I have a shirt with that exact same scan :P) Love the texture work, as well as the overall color scheme, just screams Champloo. The only thing is I wish there was a bigger resolution available, doesn't look as great stretched @ 1600x1200. Besides that, it rocks.
