AKIRA miami Heatwave

wow this is pretty cool. i like how u went from contrast to vector or vector to contrst (depends how you look at it lol). the only thing that i think is a little off his the signal or light beam on the builiding to the left. instad of flowing with the way of the buliding it looks like its just placed there. But maybe its my eyes i havent had any sleep. still awsome wall and id love to see more from u keep it up

This akira city shot scan is strikingly tempting, isn't it? To be honest, my first impression was the scan isn't quite fitting if you were aiming for an abstract design. Seeing your previous works, I think you would've done much better job with a simpler scan that allows your creative flair to do the job, rather than relying on a great looking but difficult scan to work with. Just a thought, I could be very wrong.

At first look, this wallpaper isn't very attractive....but when I take a closer look, it's brilliant! I love the way you vectorize the abstract wave, I really like the color :) The scan is very nice too, it's a great wallpaper. Nice job, keep it up!

anyway, the one thing that puts me off about the wall, is the inconcistency in technique. The ground is a smooth crisp vector, and the buildings are kinda of jaggy. Should've vectored them too. XD

When i first saw this wall on AP's mainpage i thought it looked cool. the black buildings/general movement of the wall are good, though it feels as if the buildings are too rough.. maybe vector next time? more work but better results. i like it lots, otherwise :O

It came out very very nice. It captures the whole heat-wave humidity that I would think existed in Miami. Good job, I like it a lot. (: Very very big too, haha.

I think this wall is pretty amazing! I don't know why everyone thinks you should have vectored the city... I love the city's rough edgy style. and I also love the fact that you can see the sky through the buildings. it's really neat!

Astonishing! The black and white texturing in the buildings gives you a great view of the place and really feels so different. The sunset is quite the strange one but the reflection of the sun on the buildings are also very unique. The titles explains all. Amazing job!

This wallie looks really cool in full view. The vector is real crisp and the colours are great and creates nice contrasts. I really dunno why but this wallie kinda reminds me of Miami Vice. My only criticism is that the buildings seem too jagged. Maybe you could vector them as well?

This is what i love about photoshop! The transition between the city/sunset/clouds(?) well done. Nice choice of colour family tones and framing. I would like to see more wallers really think about their compositions and what tones/shading they can actually pull off and make a decent wallpaper with, like it seems that you have done. Fine interpretation of the feeling of the film too i think. I can remember a selection of scenes that this wall reminds me of. Thanks.

Your wall is like a combination of warmth and cool. It's like at the top your going to have a heat stroke then suddenly you dipped your eyes in a cold water. Very nice!!! ^_^

In itself it's nice, but yea, it doesn't really have the Akira feel. I like the orange in the buildings, but I think what throws off the feel is the clouds along the bottom; they're too light, clean, and happy. And "Miami Heatwave" is not "slowly crumbling Neo Tokyo." It doesn't lack quality though.

Although it doesn't really resemble how Akira looks like, it still came out pretty well if you consider the job you had on making this.

I love this style, vector is quite good, colors apropiated (maybe some yellow at the back) and perfect font. Keep it up.
