very creative and nice idea. Only complaint is that the scan doesn't match the full grunginess of the backround, but still (+fave)

the concept is a little random and absrtact, but I like that the most. The only thing thats puts me off on this wall is that its too noisy, everything else, I love.

awesome concept, but it definitly lacks in execution :/ well, not completely...but what i noticed is that the grainyness of the background is kinda weird. it comes in splotches, and i don't know if that was the texture you used, or if it was intentional or what, but it's weird :/ especially on the foliage. i see yous ay it was rushed so i won't really pick on it much, but if there was one thing i'd beg you to fix, that would be it ;-; overall, nice wall...just needs some TLC in a few departments.

I love the concept of it; but as others have said, the city is too noisy (damnit Minstrel, always beating me to comments :() It's interesting and artsy and i like it.

Wow! Even if you rushed this wallie it still looks pretty good! ^-^ I like the background, but I really like the idea of the wallie, the layout is really interesting and really unique ^^ The background is a little noisy unless that's the texture =P Nice job though ^^b

Absolutely adore the concept of having the girl leave the city through a door like that - love the originality! But I agree with most of Kalico's comments - not keen on the grains texture, prefer more details for the buildings, the bottom bushes/trees(?) look a bit too photoshopped wouldn't mind more details there as well. And just like everything else, the door frame isn't as good as it could be - maybe if you weren't as rushed.
I really really wish you had fixed it up more before you submitted it because it would've gone straight into my fav book - but still, nice job! PS. do let me know if you end up fixing it.

Great concept, but background is a bit grainy for my eyes... Anyway, I like the style and athmosphere. What a hell more I need for faving it?

The doorway-idea is very creative. I also love how the the city background looks. -nods-
The only thing that bothers me is the fact that you can't tell if Reki's going out or coming in, unless you've read the title. xD Otherwise, It's a very nice wall. :]

Love the concept! I am surprised to read you did this without having seen Haibane Renmei, because the whole idea really fits Reki's story! And if this is what you come up with when you rush things, then I cannot even imagine how gorgeous it would have looked, had you put more time in it... True, the background is real noisy, but I don't find it that annoying. (Maybe after having it a few weeks onscreen it will turn tiresome?) Either way, love the composition, as well as the fact that it's both monochrome and widescreen. :)

this is really great! good variations on grey an a well worked contrast between the character and the background

It's very gray. I didn't expect to like something so gray, actually. But the color is appropriate to the theme, and the melancholy feel of the wallpaper seems appropriate. Also, the composition is good for my macbook-- it doesn't have the action all on the rightmost-side, clashing with my icons.
