I made the first draft of this wallpaper back in November of 2005, and just let it sit without finishing it. After finding this site I regained my motivation and began work on it again. I spent around 6 hours on it last night, and got some good feedback for what to change and do. Thanks everyone for their feedback.

When deciding to make this wallpaper I was getting fed up of not being able to find any high-res, high quality Berserk wallpapers. So I made my own. The image that inspired this is actually the cover of volume 28 of Berserk. I loved the moon, but the cover only had a portion of the moon. So, I decided to replace the moon with a more realistic one. The image really captured the animal fury that Gatts has when he's in that berserker state in that armor, and I wanted my wallpaper to make him seem more animal like as well.

The cape was hard to extract so I just cut it out, and then used photoshop to re-draw the fringes of the ends using a wacom tablet. I also extended the cape more for a dramatic look. Much like how in Spawn, his cape is much larger than it needs to be. It's just there to look dramatic or "cool."

EDIT: Corrected the Sig so it says AnimePaper instead of AnimePapers

EDIT 10/8/2007: I changed some features of the moon to make it fit the image better. I'm still not satisfid with it, but I need to move on to another project. It's been too long since I made a wallpaper...

lol its animepaper not animepapers in your sig i think teh bg is very interesting...gives a scenic feel, but its not scenic...that's good!

I am a HUGE fan of BERSERK and I totally agree with you that there are no high quality wallpapers for this series...which in my opionon should almost be a crime. If any anime deserves a large wallpaper gallery in order to showcase its greatness it is this anime. So, I have also started a Beserk wall, though completley different from yours...look for it to be posted in a week or two...just need some time to finish it and I'm to busy right now.

As for your wall in particular...I simply love it. The "animal" feel you were going for is achieved perfectly and I really love the background with the larger helmet view faded in the sky...VERY GOOd JOB...Keep them coming!

Always have been a fan of those black and the moon idea =P I like how the scan is black (well, this scan has red eyes *.*) and their directly by the white moon, makes them stand out alot and looks really cool I find ;P keke, I like the layout and the background is very detailed ;D Nice job ^^b

what a spectacular wallpaper. i love this image of the beast with gats' sword(?) ima totally use this! and fav+ what an amazing wallpaper. although i do have to modify the size a bit to fit on 2 desktops. non of that widescreen for me... just 2 monitors. heh. thanks again.

when i read the title and saw the wallpaper i wish i could saw the wolf bigger than that. b'coz the first time i saw the wallpaper i asked myself where was the wolf?? after saw it carefully several times i know where the wolf was... i know maybe i blind but that the truth i felt when i saw the wallpaper.

I love it! Just found Berserk a few weeks ago and it's been so hard trying to find decent wallpapers. Very nicely done. The colors are spot on and the pose is great too.

wow really cool, reaaly dark and really berserk great background and color but does at some point in the manga guts transform himself into wolf? -.O or it's just a fan fiction

Wow!! That's awesome. A very dark and beastly represention of Gatts. I wish I was that far in the manga. I've seen that costume in the ps2 game. I'm interest in the story behind it.

I'm embarrassed I missed that! |(C_C)| During my moon update I took care of the red spot. I had it much more subtle before to create more atmospheric effects, but took out that section of the filter and forgot to remove the red. Thanks for pointing that out.

Me the ubiquitous herb doctor the pan which is enormous and my opionon inside almost this series which does to be a crime hazard the quality wallpaper... The thing in you it agrees with the total. In order to exhibit in order for big wallpaper anger Rang it to be great by U who is not what kind of when there is a value and is U who is not. With your thing different completley... It searches it it will be arranged in prime object 2 is busy... If only with necessary it it will carry it is a now it won some day it ends and but, it was like this, I also started the Beserk wall. Under your wall break specially...I love with hazard it. You the hazard which will split "it is going the animal" impression is complete and it is attained and me inside sky with realness it faded a background it loves in a bigger helmet view... Quite good day... All it defends them,!
