Great vector work and i like the graininess in it. I'm bothered by the white space cos of it's emptiness but since it's supposed to ressemble the album cover, i guess i can live it. Oh and great job with replicating it to the cover, it's a great tribute to Pink Floyd.

the vector of the ubildings isn't good.. On the contrary, I think the reduced-detail vector style worked out quite well, being able to capture the scene with much less. Excellent choice of characters to mimic the original cover, too. Great stuff!

Every now and then there comes wallpapers that is really unique from the other, and this is one them. I really appreciate these wallpaper since it's really original and it really stands out from the other wallpapers. Really nice concept you've got here. Love the flames on Light, it looks really great. It's a perfect scene for the two eternal friends/enemies. It's simply a masterpiece.

I really do adore this piece. It's thoughtfully done, and the scan is just too perfectly fit. When I first saw it, the white space kind of scared me a little...but after a bit more looking it seems to complement the wall in an eerie way.

anyways, this was my favorite of all the submissions to the music battle. i was dissapointed by just how much white there is in the wall, although, i do understand it. but i still would have liked to see that extra touch to make it yours. thats just me being nitpicky though...i'm mildly obsessed with making things a part of the artist beyond the signature. anyways, definitly the best wall in that competition. too bad you guys didn't win (one reason i don't like weapons much) as for being the best pink floyd album, i've always prefered the wall, and then dark side of the moon. then wish you were here. but thats always personal prefrence anyways. i don't think anyone will deny though, that those three are pink floyds greatest albums, period, no matter what order you prefer them.

Once again, MK rules all when it comes to wallpapers. Not only is Pink Floyd a truly revolutional band that changed the face of music but Death Note is also one of the best manga series I've ever read. When combined together it's no surprise that this wall got a highlight. Nice job MK! +fav

The grain texture i think works very well here, needless to say you recreated the album cover perfectly, everything is top notch. like you said the vectoe of the buildings isnt one of the grad-ish vectors but here it fits in very nicely. the concept itself without the background knowledge lends the scene some sort of symbolic or artistic feeling, but with the background knowledge, it might actually lose some of that value in the fact that it IS just a parady or sorts.

I think it is stylized just enough to make it cool, and not make it look like you were taking short cuts or covering up bad vectors. I gotta be honest, I saw this wall a while ago and wasn't that impressed but I started watching Death Note (I'm on about ep 20) and when I saw it just now I instantly fell in love with it. Of course I knew the appropriated design when I saw it the first time but it really deepened my appreciation of it to actually connect it to the content of the series, and I think you are right that it would make more sense to have the roles reversed but I also agree that it probably has a much better aethetic this way. Great Job, Great wall. It's gonna be on my desktop for a long while.

I really like this paper, though I can't help feeling that my love of this paper is because of my love of Pink Floyd. I enjoy the style and how you worked in the two main characters, but it does feel very blank. I don't like blank white wallpapers, and that why I feel that this wallpaper has been over gratified a little.

It's such an iconic image and it translates well to the anime. I like the idea that L is shaking hands with Light, when in the original it was a man shaking hands with himself. It represents a lot. But apart from that, the background and direct effect of the wallpaper are what make it brilliant. Light is so smug. Very tastefully done.

As a Pink Floyd fan and general classic rock aficionado I have to say with honesty that this wallpaper caught my eye almost instantaneously while it was cycling through the various random wallpapers on the homepage.

Anyway, about the wallpaper itself, I'm particularly impressed at how well you were able to recreate the "Wish You Were Here" album cover with Death Note characters and still manage to remain faithful to the original (didn't miss the burnt portion on the upper right either!). Certainly you had a keen eye for finding that particular Death Note scan! The background textures are subtle, but give good detail to the ground and the various studios in the backdrop; which by the way are very clean and again remarkable in the depiction of the album art (great vectors!)

Lastly, the character vectors themselves were certainly drawn with skill, more so impressive given the quality of the manga scan from which they were pulled from. Good coloring and effects (the flames look great).

Thanks for the wall, it's certainly deserving of a favorite!

i'm bewilded, i actually just signed up for this. D8 Pink Floyd's album art is a fitting theme. The death note wallpaper strongly meant something. To me it featured that deep, unspoken feeling Light & L had developed after their intense long-time battle. That feeling is nothing of the wrong sort: it's more like 'finally finding a match, losing a true friend.'

Somehow I think it could be the same feeling Light realized (specially towards the end of the Death Note anime). haha sorry, me & my long comments... & grats your wall's featured! :)

I think it was better to have LIGHT be burning, since he is the more evil of the two, albeit killing for perfect society is for good. Yet still evil because you're killing.

I don't know. I love this wall. Especially as a fan of a Pink Floyd songs.

I absolutely love this. And I don't mind the white background at all. I really do think it adds to the whole image. It lets you focus in on the two characters, which is what its all about. It's sort of telling a story of its own with absolutely no words to accompany it.

This is awesome. I totally agree with you that Floyd is amazing, first of all, so when I saw this highlighted I had to get a better look. You did a great job on this, I love it, and this is one of my favorite Floyd songs, so it's an even bigger deal to me. I like that the buildings are kind of simple in comparison to L and Light so the eye is directed to them and not the background. Great job! +fav

I don't know what else I can say that hasn't already been said, but again, I love the way you executed this idea. The Music theme challenge sounds like it was a lot of fun. This may sound dumb, but I love that I have icon space while I can still enjoy the beauty of the wall on my desktop. This is just so lovely. Keep up the wonderful work!

I love the wall, it shows a lot about the characters with almost no effort. Lots of symbolism in it and love it for that reason.

i really like the comment about these two characters implied by this. you can look the devil in the eye but how long will you hold his hand. Nice. Brutal. But nice.

Wish you were here is awesome and the concept of this wall is really ingenious. It's simple looking but sends a really powerful message. Not qualms on the white space, you'd think it would be annoying but it seems to grasp the 'cover' aspect of the song and therefor does not seem like its dead space. Rather, it highlights/accentuates the center. Nice job!
