Atonement

I'm a huge Kenshin fan but I have a few nitpicky things to say about this wall. The lens flares in the upper left bother me somewhat. The main source of light in this piece of obviously the sun, but it just seems to be destroying the background sky. I think this wall would be better off without that massive lightsource and just leave the dreary clouds you had going there. I like the colors you used in the sky a lot, but that light really breaks up the middle of this wall and destracts from your grass work, clouds, and the scan. It also makes the text very hard to read.

In my opinion this wallpaper would be very nice if you'd just gone with the sky you seem to start with and got rid of that sun.

I still like it, but I see a lot more potential in it.

Lens flares are indeed of the devil. But I like what you did with Tomoe, all ghostly and stuff.

Love this wall.. I like the idea of having tomoe faded.. looks awesome. I agree a bit on the lens flare, but I don't think it detracts that much from the wall, it still looks great as it is. The texture fits well and the grass and sky both look very well done. Keep up the wonderful work (:

I like it, but there are two things bothering me: the font, which seems rough, and the fact that their hair is blowing in opposite directions. Other that, great concept! I love the way the girl seems really ghost like without looking like you used some cheap blending option.

Very nice Kenshin wall. It has a very strong dramatic feel to it and the title you have put is appropriate as well. I like the fading effect and texture you have put on your text. I dunno how I feel about tomoe... I like the ghostly effect maybe you could have overlapped kenshin's image so it creats a certain connection. Dramatic wall I like it!

The lensflares actually give the atmosphere an odd sort of feel. Somewhat spiritiually full. The only thing that bothered me is the hair blowing in opposite directions. But, hey, who knows which direction the wind is blowing in the ethereal realms? :D

Great work, I really like it, altho I haven't seen the old version with the lens flare, so I can't really compare them. Anyway I can't really point out anything that's not great in this wall, so +++fav :)

yeah the image quality could be better, and something more could be added to tomoe.. it's a bit plain. Kenshin's feet & the grass could be more subtle, but I'm being picky with that, so overall it's a very pretty wall! nice mood.

What a beautiful wall. I like the idea of ghost Tomoe, not to mention you pulled that affect off well. The image is a tad grainy but it's not too bad. Kenshin's ponytail seems to have faded along with Tomoe, unless you meant to do that to have a connection of the two? Either way, beautiful scenary, the lighting is very nice as is the grass and text. Lovely. :)

The Atonement of Kenshin is the theme that is obviously important throughout the series and how he is haunted by what occured between Tomoe and himself but also of his past as a killer.

i love the concept, the ghostly figure of tomoe behind kenshin looking like he did when he was the battousai, i love it. the sky looks great, the grass looks great, kenshins colors look great, even the transperant tomoe looks great (ive seen some other attempts at transperancies and they just looked faded) the blurr effect makes her look more ghostly. very nice.

It seems like Kenshin fells so sorry (huh? do you think so?) Nice scenery, but I see Kenshin's hair look strange (it's only your feeling, bro!)

I love Kenshin theme and everything about this series.

I LOVE this wall! First of all, the ghostly image of Tomoe is very thoughtful. The simple background along with the colors of the clouds capture the mood perfectly. Nice touches with the small butterflies flying into the sky, and the font fits in with the overall image as well. Brilliant!

That background is great.I like that field and the colors of clouds are beautiful but something in that text is bothering me.

Love the background image chosen, and yeah the 'realistic' version of Kenshin really is nice to look at. Good theme and ideas incorporated into the wallpaper, it wasnt just slapped together so thats nice. Good work.

i really like the speical effects...but i don't like tomoe...but kenshin and kaoru would be better in that wallpaper...but kenshin should be fading...since he's like wanderer.

Kenshin's hair flow at that direction makes me feel the windy and freshness of the wind blowing. The grass and tree let the space just perfect, not too empty. Tomoe fading, this effect is great too. A great wallpaper for sure. :)

I like how you made Tomoe fade out; it's a really creative twist on a stock scan that's been done to death :) I really like the background too. The only criticism I have is the text. Personally, I feel that there shouldn't be extraneous text, especially ones that try to tell the viewer what's going on or what feelings you're trying to convey with the image: The image should speak for itself.

this is one of my fav kenshin walls. :] the atmosphere is just so calm and tranquil, and sad too. the peaceful bg and having tomoe faded like a ghost really brings out kenshin's sadness. great title too, atonement.

Amazing, amazing amazing amazing, I do love the affect that the sun gives to the wall. Just the aptmosphere, I'd assume kenshin would just be talking a walk somewhere in japan after or during the war and just remembering tomoe and all. Very great wall, the ghost of tomoe is genious, I love the single tree and the color of the sky and grass and how it mixes together, and I can't seem to find anything to critque on it ^-^ It's deff going on my favs, great job!

I really like your description of the wall. Everything that you said can be seen immediately. The realistic background captures the all too real feelings of Kenshin's loss, along with the more realistic characters. The sunset and fading of Tomoe's spirit is sad, but calming at the same time. I really, really appreciate and like this wallpaper.

Cool Wall! Tomoe looks really cool and the sky is awesome. The lens flare isn't that bad. The big light source is kind of distracting, but all in all it still looks really good!

This is a more upbeat Kenshin wallpaper. It has that open field that shows his Rurouni / traveler lifestyle and the silhouetted image of what looks like Toki (not sure of her name, haven't seen much of Samurai X, but somehow that's the name I think I remember) from his past.

The message seems to be very powerful:

With the word "Atonement: Can I be Forgiven?" in the center of the image, it creates this central ideal, focusing on Himura's change of heart and retribution over his Battousai past.

The title shows that he's looking for forgiveness, to break even with his morals and to make up for the past that troubles him.

I really like the bright open field, since it's reminiscent of the open world, roaming from place to place, a hyperbole of a long journey for Kenshin.

Then there's the silhouette of Toki, whom represents Kenshin's other half, the half that wanted to seek atonement. Though I remember that she died, she still lives within him, guiding him to the future, the dream he wants to realize.

I'm probably seeing stuff that isn't there, but this is one of those wallpapers that speaks to the viewer. It can tell us something important about ideas and people's thoughts, as well as advice should we ever need some.

the way the background mixes with the foregrounds is brilliant this picture reminds me of the the four part special i can imagine the end credit theme playing to this picture .this is the best kenshin picture iv seen so far and the wording puts the icing on the cake for this picture . absolutely marvelous !!!
