I like it. It looks a bit dark and old so it gives this kind of atmosphere and it suits the series. The pictures you`ve selected for the bg are very good and I love the image in the foreground^^

I think that having made the screen a sepia color favors three illustrations arranged in the snap photograph style very well.

My first reaction and impression was immediate: a sense of melancholic nostalgia as one looks back on the life one has lived so far, a quiet joy mixed undeniably with a tinge of sadness. The reaction was strong and instant, this is a moving wallpaper at the least.

You show wisdom in what images to use for the three photographs; its always those memories that are tend to be angering or traumatic or extreme in nature that elicit the strongest response from us while we experience it, and yet its those same memories that tend to be the dearest and closest to our person, those memories that have left an indelible impression on us, forever imprinted in our heart and mind. The three scenes portray such episodes in Ed's life, was this part of the original scan? If you hand-picked them yourself, I think you have chosen your scenes wisely.

Using that dark tinge was great in creating that "opening an old photo album" feel, where pulp based parchments yellowing over time, and as bluesoul389 has pointed out, the pre-WWII era time frame for Fullmetal Alchemist fits the effect perfectly. I however have to echo similar critiques that the image is a bit too dark. If you look in the lower right hand corner, Winry's hand placement look awkward because the outline of her arms are indistinguishable. I had to look twice to realize that she's crossing her arms. If you had lightened the hue just a bit, you could have retained the outlines and yet kept the same "old album" effect. Two Fullmetal Alchemist wallpapers that do a good job of this are FMA: Military Memories and Into the Fog.

But these are technical details that can be learned, honed, and polished over time. The big thing is that your eye and imagination for what works and what images elicit the intended emotion are dead on. For your first serious attempt this is awesome! I can't wait to see your future wallpapers!

Nice wall, I like the idea that you were trying to create but I think it could of been better. Well, since this is your first wall, it'll probably take some time until you perfect the image in your head. I like the mood you created. I think you should of made the background a tad more lighter so it would blend in with the pictures and Ed more. Good pictures choices! >__<
